Wycombe are an interesting example of the gulf between the Championship and L1. To some extent they were in a false position in L1 and were lucky to get into the playoffs. But they had a formula in the first part of last season that worked, And they won the playoffs against 2 good teams who were in form last season. This season they have not spent much, I assume, and they are totally out of their depth.
Not going to rate the performance as Robbins is still struggling to get his first team out - Hamer’s card was a nuisance then Walkers Covid and Dabos injury - these would be first on the team sheet and he has been unable to do it - very positive about last night - PUSB

Weirdly the most positive I’ve felt is after the Bristol City loss. I think the first half of that game is the best we’ve played the whole season, including our win.

I think we’ll grow into the season. Hopefully next month we’ll have Walker, Hamer, Dacosta, Dabo, Jobello and Hilßner available. That’s more than half a team of first team squad players. The players we have will learn the levels required, McCallum, O’Hare, Sheaf, Dabo, Hamer, Rose, Giles, Marosi will all improve with exposure to Championship football.
We’ll definitely be a better team in January than we are now. It’ll come down to can we keep in touch and keep our heads during the learning process.
