ACL lease off the owners of the ground so the lease would be a significant factor when purchasing the property.
The situation you describe would not happen as no one would purchase it.
Noggin, I dont know if thats always the case. Look at Onye, and Dulieu, and now Labo, all jettisoned as they either spoke out of turn, spoke cr*p, or made themselves and SISU a laughing stock. Now look at Fisher, he is moving down the list trying to achieve a regular full house.
So you're saying SISU's only option is to buy ACL then?
Also said the richo is not for sale (well not to sisu ) anyway.
Ownership including transferring a debt from the public purse I would suggest the council would have to agree to.
I don't think they would agree, that would put them at huge risk of SISU calling in the loan, or changing it's terms, and that would risk the Councils share of ACL.

Which is fishers point
No I'm not. If the Ricoh is purchased the purchaser would also buy the associated debt. Also none of us know any of the articles associated with both.
If any buyer purchased the stadium they would buy the debt. Ultimately the council will win anyway only Higgs will lose. They are the vunerable party as their share has zero influence.
I've never heard him make a point about whether if they bought the stadium they wouldn't own a loan between the Council and ACL.
You may well be right but all it seems to add up to is more reasons for the council not to sell the freehold. Which only leaves the leasehold. Which gives you 2 options. Buy ACL or sit it out until ACL's lease runs out and hope you aquire the next lease that's on offer. We already know that the distress ACL until they go bump so you can pick them up on the cheap option doesn't work.
i would like to believe the new stadium nonsense is part of a bargaining position to try and buy the ricoh.
If not, the thought of playing in an out of town 18k capacity is enough to deterr most fans
Buying the stadium won't generate income for the club.
Whilst it quite possibly is, if they don't own the Ricoh "They will build a new stadium", FACT and you better believe it!
I do and you lot can believe whatever you like.
Why spoil a great couple of weeks and one of the most fantastic nights in the clubs history (and definitely the Ricoh's) by re-hashing the politics when all we won't is to talk about the football and the future of the football club and not focus on recent past events?
Aaaaaaandddd the penny drops. Don't expect any of the "Gate money" to be spent on new players either. He said before the game that the current deal with ACL is viable in L1 but would not be in the Championship. This worries me. If we get promoted are we back to square 1? Or is promotion not currently the aim?
It is the basic tenure of the argument why the club can never succeed just as a tenant. It also is why the Ground despite the building costs is actually worthless.
The arrangement is unique and bizarre.
I would agree that it's not worth anyone buying the ground without the lease, as ownership is worthless.
I don't see how this links to an argument that the club can't succeed as a tenant.

Please tell us all, how do you know that?
Surely just better to buy ACL, get the income without the hassle of owning the building. It's not as if we've loads of money sloshing around to buy a ground and the lease.
How many clubs have?

That's a good spot, actually hadn't really considered that but .......... maybe LOL
I'm surprised that Timmy didn't claim the credit for last nights gate by saying the move to northHampton was a deliberate ploy to reignite the passion of the fans and he knew the fans would flock back when we returned....
Abscence makes the heart grow fonder...

Yes why are you doing that?
If it's worthless why have SISU invested so much time and money into trying to acquire it?

Whoever started this thread is doing THAT.
Tim Fisher?
Whoever started this thread is doing THAT.
Didn't see his name on it?
No someone stirring it, yet again started it. BORING!
To my knowledge they haven't.
No, you saw my name on it. But TF started it sure enough with more inflammatory remarks right before the game. You want me to pretend I didn't hear him? And if anyone is boring pal, go take a look in the mirror.
