Fitness update for Saturday (2 Viewers)

Coventry City have a few players nursing minor knocks and injuries, with Aron Gunnarsson being major doubt for the first game of the new season.
Gary McSheffrey should be fit to return after being taken off against West Brom last Saturday. He has been back in training after a minor knock and was substituted as a precaution.
Full back Chris Hussey also returned to training yesterday after missing out against The Baggies because of a foot injury. Boothroyd is confident he will be fit and available to be in Saturday's squad.
Forward Roy O'Donovan has also returned to training after recovering from an ankle injury. He also missed the West Brom game, but he, too should be ready for the Pompey game.
Boothroyd said, “Chris and Roy have both had contact injuries but they will hopefully be available for this Saturday".
Another new signing Stephen O'Halloran will probably be out for up to two weeks.
“Stephen has had a problem with his lower back so it might be a case of having to rest for a week or two.” explained Boothroyd, who has referred his defender to a back specialist.
Martin Cranie will most likely start against Portsmouth in the absence of O'Halloran

I think if Laurent signs he will be a good impact player with a few minutes to go to run at the defenders and cause a nuisance!

Id like to see o halloran play more after he returns from his injury i feel he could do a good job for us at the back.

He played against nuneaton, but then has struggled with his back injury, seems a good lad but just isn't gonna play much due to injuries i feel. Cranie and Keough will be excellent

Hopefully he will be put on a pay as you play deal then.

I do rate Cranie at Left Back though, we also have Hussey as cover who I think will break into the team!

Last season we were stetched to our limits we had no cover anywhere, AB has spotted this and i feel if somebody gets injuried who ever gets in the starting 11 when there out will do there most to keep them out and try play a blinder. Im just hoping these sigining have the hungry to really play at there best and be really competative for places.
