Fleck last night (1 Viewer)

I found/find him frustrating to watch. At times his passing, execution and creativity are top draw, the next shocking. I really think he needs to learn when to go for that "champagne" pass or turn and when to just keep it simple. I have seen him end up looking really silly a
few times now for going for a crazy first time pass on the volley or trying to get on the soccer am showboat! He could be very good if his decision making improves and he calms down a bit....

One point when we were 2-1 down he lost possession far too easily, ending up on the floor and Preston on a counter! Far too lightweight or such a big fella (weight wise).

Is a frustrating player as i still don't think we've seen what he's fully capable of

One thing I do notice with a lot of our players is the way they pass the ball which usually means kicking it as hard as they can. Wood always does in and one of McSheff's centres was ridiculously hard.

Wrong sort of player for a game against a side like Preston. Think he is undoubtedly talented, it's just whether Robins can get him playing properly.

Difficult for the midfield to have any real creativity against a team like last night. Same as David Silva when Man C play teams like stoke. They get bullied out of the game. The balls either flying over their head, or when they do get the ball they're getting the toes trodden on. He's the type of player who plays in a real football pass and move game.

He's still very young you have to remember. I think he's 20 or 21 so he's still got a lot to learn but he's probably one of our most creative and technically gifted players. I agree though, he frustrated me yesterday aswell. He can only get better

He looked overweight last night, surely with a bit of weight loss he'd be more agile/mobile and maybe add some speed to his game.

Bit difficult/unfair to judge him on last nights show... I did wonder on his inclusion against the 'orrible lot from PNE... he was far too easily barged off the ball far too often which is kind of strange because he looks quite stocky. He's more of a flair player than a grinder, Maybe MR hoped to pass it around and beyond the thugs from PNE.. which periodically we did.

I think people are being very patient. If bell played like he did last night he'd be slaughtered.

We don't want him to lose any more weight, he's getting knocked off the ball as it is! :D

Lose any more and opposition players will simply puff up their cheeks and blow him over as they run past!

Don't be silly, he faired well physically bearing in mind he is 5"6. He did some good things, and bad things, but overall played well, I'd rate him a 6 for that performance.

Just because PNE are a little physical, doesn't mean we should not try and play the ball on deck.

One thing I noticed, which Fleck was a victim of AND others, in fact, Baker nearly done for the goal, that there was some misunderstanding of one another, play A would pass it to player B, player B oes to pass it back but player A ran too far, too short or another direction. It happens. Take the 2nd goal, Baker had to change his run to get to the ball because he weren't expecting the ball, happend a few times last night.

I thought he was largely anonymous to be honest, the odd good moment but that was it, and was our worst midfielder.

I thought that was Bailey, I'm a big fan of Bailey, he didn't put as many tackles as Jennings, and didn't really have a chance to influence the game in his normal way, Thomas and Jennings were much more up for the physical challenge.

Jennings pleasantly surprised me, all over the place, in a good way!

What I will say, I think we were trying to be a bit more direct because we had Clarke up top, so we kinda bypassed our midfield time to time so our 'passing' midfielders didn't

The midfield was largely poor for majority of the game, even Robns said we were poor. Of the midfielders fleck was the most disappointing.

In what aspect? The way you worded it just then, it could suggest he didn't play particularly badly, nor the worst midfielder, just he didn't perform to our expectations so he disppointed you.

In all honesty I would say they were all pretty average bar 'Jenno', Thomas was better than Bailey but we failed in possession, we didn't keep it on deck enough. We were lucky* yesterday, lets hope we don't have to rely on luck next round.

*we made our own luck and fair play, but it could've been like Shrews on NYD all over again!

Bell has been here nearly 4 years. Fleck has been here since July.

Baker has as well and until this season had fared no better. Fleck in the championship would not be pleasant viewing. He is far too slow. He is still relatively young so his fitness and strength can improve but compare mcsheffrey and fleck at 23 and there is zero comparison.
