Simon Gilbert has tweeted the following:

'Received apology from @NBBCouncil - after I reported them to the Information Commisioner - for refusal to answer FOI about Sky Blues stadium
'We already knew, but @NBBCouncil have now officially confirmed 'informal' discussions about a new Sky Blues in the borough.

'However, the precise details of sites discussed are being withheld by @NBBCouncil. Do they have a duty to inform voters / the taxpayers?'

Will be good to see who would be happy for a ground to be built in Nuneaton but were pissed off with the thought of Nuneaton playing at the Ricoh whilst their ground would have been brought up to standard if they would have been promoted to the FL.

At least they could sell it to Nuneaton cheaply once we move back to the Ricoh. If the Ricoh would be seen as nearly worthless without a football club how much would this shack be worth without one?

Sisu would tie the sale of CCFC up to the stadium.
Anyone buying the club only would just move back to the Ricoh.

This could get messy.

But like I said how could they put much value on it if the Ricoh don't have much value if you ask them, but it is also much more than a football stadium. And is also in the city to where the football club is from. It wouldn't add enough value to go against present debts and added debts from building it. And Joy knows this.

They've answered your question.

I don't think they need necessarily disclose the exact sites due to commercial confidentiality with SISU.

The key word being "informal" hardly sounds like advanced talks and impact statements on 2 sites that have been narrowed down from three. Sounds more like me ringing an estate agent to ask them if they've got any houses for sale and then announcing I'm in the advanced stages of buying a house.

If the modular design allowed the capacity to be reduced as well as upgraded that might actually be a viable option in the future.

One of the issues with a new stadium is that it won't hold its value as there will be a much better stadium located in the city that any future owner will want to move back to. They can try and package the two together but what if all those interested say they only want the club not the ground.

Doesn't sound like things are too advanced. I thought by this stage they would have purchased land and put in planning permission. Both fairly easy to do even if they have no intention of actually building the thing and makes it look like something is actually happening therefore increasing pressure on the council and ACL to offer an even better deal.

And dont think it will be built in Nuneaton and Bedworth borough . No where for them to build a stadium.
I live in Bedworth and will not support Coventry unless its in the borough of Coventry its in the name.

I bet you were one of the many fans who previously never attended the Ricoh because "it's almost in fucking Nuneaton"

The current situation we find ourselves in seems to suit so many fans, as they can continue their trend of not supporting the club, put up as many obstacles as they want, and feel that they are 'protesting'

The longer this crisis goes on, the more inclined i am to believe that supporters 'as a whole' are getting the club they deserve.

What commercial confidentiality? Simon has specifically quoted that the contact has been "informal". Surely that means nothing commercial has happened?

The answer is simple just as they start building this new ground some moneybags City backer buys Nuneaton Town relocates them to the Ricoh and then changes the name to Coventry something, then lets see what sisu do with their new stadium. One promotion and we are in division 4 free of debt and can start afresh.

It's greenbelt land, there would be uproar if they gave planning permission for it there whilst there is a shortage of housing in the area.
