Been looking forward to this for weeks. Love what the Villa have done for Dean Smith’s dad.

All got perfectly cut hair for the sky TV show, thought barbers weren't allowed to be open...

Shame there's not a red button service though!

I was waiting for that. Someone somewhere has a button to sound crowd noises. Grealish has a shot saved and you can hear “YEEEEEAAA”. Oops, wrong one.

It's like a pre season friendly.

Villa don't look like they are playing for survival.

That looked over the line to me. Is the goal line technology accurate?

That was well over the line, doesn't look like the goal line technology is working.

Surely VAR should step in if they haven’t turned the refs watch on? Scandalous.

There's obviously been a malfunction there. That's over, no doubt.

Why didn't he even ask var?

That decision is going to be brushed aside for the ref kneeling.

How didn't the lino give it either? Perfect view.

Var should have given that.

Guess that has also highlighted a problem with stuff like goalline technology - do the officials become so reliant on it that they stop really paying attention at all because it's something that is done for them.

VAR should've told the ref. Can spot a player with a left bollock offside but not a goal a good few inches over the line.

The lino was looking right at it. He was on the line.

I’m beginning to think the technology wilfully misused just to increase the talking points.

Goal line tech blatantly isn’t switched on. They normally have the computerised replay straight away to show if it’s in or not.

Assume the ref didn’t ask for VAR as he assumes the goal line tech will be right. Someone at the VAR centre should have had a word and told him it needed looking at.

I’ve seen more replays of the players kneeling than I have of the ‘goal’.

Funny how nobody wants to comment.

The system wasn't on. The ref has said it's now working and will work the second half.

Imagine if this gives villa a goal.

Apparently the Ref got the goal notification at HT.
