Do you think we will stick to the diamond now Thorn has gone? (under shaw and LC)
If not what formation would best suit our players?
One more thing, surely we should have offered thorn his scouting job back? His scouting talent is second to none, and seems a nice guy sad to see him without a job.
Not going to lie, I hope we keep the formation, it's a good system, will work a LOT better when Thomas and Clarke come back.
If we keep or not depends on the manager, for example, if Tisdale comes (although he rejected Swansea and another job better than ours), we might keep it as he plays real football but if we get a long ball merchant, 4-4-2 will be kept and our useless winger will f*ck us over big time!
- Three in the back. We're no longer relying on LB and RB to bomb forward as "wingers". They can concentrate on being defenders.
Midfield:-
- Two defensive midfielders out wide. They can drop back to turn the defence into a five or get forward to offer attacking options out wide.
- Two central midfielders. They command the middle of the park and are responsible for getting the ball to the feet or head of the strikers. They can also use their speed and tenacity to help the big lad (ball) break the CB and open up the defence. It also gives them chances to shoot.
Strikers:-
- Three strikers. The two nimble ones aka Cody and Elliot in wide positions who can cut in at angles on the defence and give the LB and RB trouble while the big lad (Ball) tussels with the CB. They can also feed Ball if he's got into a good position or shook off his marker.
The second formation posted by PVA for me, with the three behind McDonald 'roaming'. Which they will need to do as the club does not have traditional wingers. McSheffrey is not a wide player, and Kilbane does not have pace to play on the wing.
