Can someone explain to me what he's for?

I fail to see what he brings to the team. Yes collectively the team wasn't good enough today but he always seems to be a waste of a substitution to me. He brings nothing as far as I can see. He's not a game changer and inevitably when he comes on that's what we need.

he only played for a few minutes against port vale but for me Henderson offered much more as a target man and held the ball up better. Obviously not as mobile but in my opinion a better option.
