Leicester City have completed the signing of Chelsea defender Patrick van Aanholt on loan for the rest of the season. Skysports.com revealed on Tuesday that the Foxes had lined up a loan deal for Van Aanholt, along with a move to re-sign Aston Villa centre-half Curtis Davies.
Van Aanholt has now finalised his switch to the Walkers Stadium and the Championship club are confident the Dutch youngster can make an impact in the coming months.
Assistant manager Derek Fazackerley told the club's official website: "Patrick is another quality addition to our squad.
Hunger
"He is a talented young footballer, with good skill, natural pace and the required hunger and desire to do well in the game.
"Although Ben Mee can play at left-back, Bruno Berner is our only specialist player in that position, so this was an area we needed to add to.
"Patrick has impressed at Chelsea, Coventry City and Newcastle United and we are certain he will do likewise here at the Walkers Stadium."
The 20-year-old had spells on loan in the Championship with Coventry and Newcastle last season, and he has made six appearances for Chelsea this term.
The Leicester money machine is going full pelt now - full dues to them, they are attracting some nice players. Not sure about Van A, but would love to have seen the Yak at the Ricoh!
