Two Alternative Matches For Those Not Going To Northampton

The Ricoh Arena are to stage two games in direct competition to Coventry City's opening two 'home' matches of the season.

The Ricoh Arena is staging a game between a Coventry Former Players team and a Midland Former Players Team on Sunday August 11th at 2pm in direct competion to the Sky Blues League One game against Bristol City at Northampton Town FC.

Admission for the game at the Ricoh Arena is £5 a ticket and all proceeds to charity.

Tickets will be available via the Ricoh ticket office open from Thursday and also on-line.

On Sunday August 25th, whilst Coventry City are playing Gillingham at Sixfields, Coventry City Ladies will be playing at the Ricoh Arena in the WPL Southern League, a division they have been relegated into, through an inital lack of support from SISU and CCFC over the years, amongst other a host of other reasons, in their opening game of the season against Lewes.

Let's see a full house at the Ricoh and the game at Sixfields played in front of a miniscule crowd, that will send a powerful message to the Football League, the FA and the country.

OK, that sounds fine to me. Hope to see thousands of you there. This is a massive opportunity to stick two fingers up to Sisu. Show the football world we care. Us fans being together, despite all our differences. Ideally 10,000 + would be brilliant. So come on everyone. This is not to be missed.
If getting in for tickets is a hassle I'm sure they'll be a chance to pay on the gate?

I'm up for this, little worried that a combination of: first "home" game brings more to Sixfields than normal and some going to protest on Jimmy's Hill might hit attendance though.

Posted on Twitter, people need to do the same. Get the word out to people that don't read the forums.

Get the message out everywhere, we need to concentrate on this action and this action alone.

My wife just spotted this on the Cov Telegraph site and said she'd like to go with me to see this - and she's not even interested in football. Just from what she's heard and read, thinks that it's the right thing to do to try and get as much support at the Ricoh as possible.

I think this would be better than any protest planned for Northampton, as it sends a message that people aren't willing to go to Northampton for any reason whatsoever (an away game excepted obviously)

As long as profits from food/drink/car parking also go to charity then it's a good idea.

If just a way for ACL to get money in without the club being there then hardly going to help negotiations from their side to get the club playing back in Coventry.

Great idea, hopefully it works as planned and it embarrasses the powers that be. However the FA and FL's records with regards to fan boycotts are pretty poor to be honest.

I know this is totally optimistically ambitious, but could we fill the stadium? I know it sounds mad but why not? It's our chance to make a big statement.

At a £5 you can't go wrong, a day out for all the family
not sure about sky blue sam though.
too many players to mention, but this has been in the pipeline for a while.
due to it being on a sunday and not many other games on,
you might see ex players who are still playing, make an appearance, although not playing.be there for autographs
I should get a list later in the week.to update on here

Can we get this spread to other teams forums I know it's a long shot but having other teams shirts there would help our cause
