Let's bloody hope soDoug will probably have to drop his no loan policy considering at derby he had many
he Could very well be, as good as robins was he wasn’t tactically the best,Well il take your word for it that we're appointing the new marco bielsa
he Could very well be, as good as robins was he wasn’t tactically the best,
Also probably overhaul of the coaching set-up and poor recruitment. You think if lampard had been in charge the start of this season would he have been any worse than robins, I doubt it, we’ve been awful, that’s on the manager unfortunately
No you’re wrong, he got us to where we are by motivation only.No sure, his CV says he was pretty good tactically though
You also said robins won't be sacked so no point discussing that eitherIt won't be Lampard, so no point discussing.
Sigh. This season. You knew what I meantApart from an FA Cup QF, SF at Wembley and two weeks ago.
Maybe when Robins was talking about lowering expectations he wasn’t talking to us, and was actually talking to aboveI’m sure there are better managers out there on the continent and maybe some of the less well known names like Bloomfield maybe good in the long run but for where we are I can see some logic in Lampard.
Im not expecting playoffs this season now but to push up the table and finish top half after our start and the dumping of Robins.
Next summer is going to be a rebuild; Sheaf, Hadji, MVE all likely to move on. Likes of Bidwell, Allen and Wilson out of contract. So we’re looking at some significant churn although possibly a Vik windfall.
Frank has contacts in the game and assuming he steadies the ship I’d expect us to build a decent team although think it would be a push to expect promotion.
18 months of Lampard whilst not spectacular maybe the best we can hope for at this point.
It’s Doug who I think is going to have to adjust his expectations. There’s always a team that comes out the blue to get promotion but if he really wants us up he’s going to have to put his hands in his pockets and pump some money in not rely on sell ons from our better players.
It’s more - acceptance that robins is gone, but we need a managerI just can’t understand people wanting Robins out but being happy with Lampard. Completely odd.
Looking at what derby fans say about lampardI don’t want Lampard but it wouldn’t be the end of the world.
I’d hate to be known as “Frank Lampards Coventry”, but it would give us exposure.
I think his style is generally more aggressive/attacking than Robins’ which probably suits the squad.
Ok? Lampard left them after finishing 6th so I’m not sure how it’s his fault they got relegated 3 seasons later.Looking at what derby fans say about lampard
One of the common things is " yes he raised our profile "
They went down to league 1 shortly after and have the ex Rotherham manager in charge

That’s what I didn’t get, we recruited for a 433, he said we had no width against derby ? just think he was running out of ideas, there’s a decent team in there, hope the new gaffer can find it,Also probably overhaul of the coaching set-up and poor recruitment.
I don't know how much of that was down to the manager.
An alternative perspective:
This is a great outcome for Mark. He leaves still a hero, the victim. He leaves with the crowd with him not against him. He leaves without it going horribly sour in the way most managers leave. He leaves with 2 years money and a great reputation in the EFL. Just like Eric Black he will forever be remembered as a manager with very few negative memories.
IF and it’s a big IF we find a manager that gets us promoted and we kick on again as a club then we as fans win too. If we get promoted and King sells the club to a much wealthier owner who keeps us as a Premier league club we win again.
Elite sport is about fine margins ….. remember that play off final. We didn’t turn up for 60 mins under Robins, the same in the Semi Final. They are two of my personal favourite recent moments with City but even during them they felt like they were turning sour for a long period.
I will be forever grateful to Mark, i have nothing but positive memories of him, but i‘M a Coventry City fan. The club will always come before any individual for me. Always has.
Robins hadly covered himself in glory before he came here, he had free reign and suited what we needed at the time, is it the correct decision, who knowsRobins > Lampard is just everything I hate about football.
awful manager.
I mean, we're joint 22nd and given the next 3 fixtures, it's obvious we'd be back in the relegation zone. That's not good enough, is it??Robins hadly covered himself in glory before he came here, he had free reign and suited what we needed at the time, is it the correct decision, who knows
This isn't putting boxes prices up beyond what you initially said or upping kids prices is it?
People will moan and gripe but eventually they accept it. This is far worse, and I agree, be difficult to heal the rift with the fans, well, most of us.
Don't lie - if they got us up they'd be your heroesHes made the relationship with the club purely transactional now. We aren’t on a journey. We aren’t a family. The players aren’t good lads doing their best. They’re all mercenaries staff and players now. So fuck then. I don’t like them, get us up the league or fuck off asap frankly.
What real life is that?
I'm in City WhatsApp groups, work at a place with a lot of Skyblues and play 5 a side with predominantly Sky Blues supporters.
And I can tell you now, there is an incredible amount of anger equal to that on here and on social media.
I'm not sure where this real world is away from the bubble I must be living in
Don't lie - if they got us up they'd be your heroes
I'm in the camp of I will slate the hell out of him until he becomes manager and then he will suddenly be Frankie Baby.I don’t want Lampard but it wouldn’t be the end of the world.
I’d hate to be known as “Frank Lampards Coventry”, but it would give us exposure.

Liam Kitching could save my cat and I’d still think he’s a prick.
Never? Even if we suddenly won 8 games in a row?I didn't think it could get worse, if we end up joining the f*cking Lampard circus. He's a sh*t manager with a name.
Lampard out, I'll never back him.

Why are you being so rude?Even my daughter is coming back from school asking what’s up because all the lads in her year are pissed off about City. Even poll. Every news piece with fans. Every podcast.
Just ccfc4l and his cousin watching Sky and playing FIFA and wondering when the tikka taka starts.
