Warwick asks voters to back climate plans and 34% council tax rise

I assume it’s 3.4%?
Nope, 34%.
It's definitely a typo/error - has to be 3.4%.
Would make the new figure just over £1531 a year from £1479. Anyone in WDC confirm that's what it was last year (sounds about right though)
EDIT: Unless it means just one small part of the bill is increasing by 34%, which would be something rising from £27 to £79
34% for that section presumably as some % is earmarked for police or other services etc.
Joke really, unless they can measure where it actually goes and makes a difference it will simply be another tax.
Meant week, but the point still stands.I take it you are not an accountant.

Sadly to meet these targets and make real change on the green agenda it is going to need some serious cash! And guess who foots the bill!
This has been floated for about 6 months now, surprised it’s taken this long for comment. I think it’s a fair idea, what’s £50 over a year?

torchomatic I feel sure by the end of the day SBAndy will be in touch offering to pay your share after all "what's £50 over a year. This has been floated for about 6 months now, surprised it’s taken this long for comment. I think it’s a fair idea, what’s £50 over a year?
Easy, Torch. Ditch the City, save the planet.Easy to say from someone who hasn't got to pay it. £50 is £50.

I'll add a zero on the end, but don't tell him.
Remember, if there is no planet, the City will have nowhere to play.Grumble, grumble, grumble....
I know we can all do our bit, but so many things we can do ourselves that will have a greater impact and also peeing in the wind when you look at some other countries tgat make you think whays the point. Tbh wdc ate box yicking, it's futile and if tgey asked the residents I think it would ne an overwhelming and emphatic no.
Damn it. And all this time people believed i was also @oldskyblue58Nick! @covcity4life has got two accounts!!
lol fat fingers on my phoneNick! @covcity4life has got two accounts!!
Totally agree, I would be pissed too!Fair enough, but it should be paid by everybody and come from central government, not local. Why should I pay it when someone in Stratford or Coventry doesn't? If this was a national thing, i.e. all council's doing then fair enough. Why not just spend the £300K it'll cost to hold the referendum on "green" projects?
