That's great don, for everyone who lives or comes from Coventry, I'm sure they will be proud to watch a team play in civic colours and have civic badge. What about the masses of fans (~50%+) that don't, who come from nuneaton, Bedworth, rugby, leamington, Warwick and further a field? Why would they choose cov united and recognise cov united as ccfc mk2, when they have clubs in their towns they have more affinity with playing in the same/similar league? You seem to forget ccfc catchment stretches much further than the Coventry boundary.I guess it's personal opinion.
If CCFC were liquidated.
I would be happy to go to the butts to watch a team that play in the civic colours. That was started by Cov fans in response to one of the actions that will have killed our club.
The civic arms was how our badge was set up originally. So it celebrates the heritage even more so than an elephant. Probably should have called themselves the Coventry Singers as oppose to Utd.
So with no CCFC in my city I wouldn't be against going to watch Coventry Utd.
Also I would never in the circumstances ever consider it to be in anyway a form of franchising.

Now if it was true Phoenix club with the history, fa cup win, 35 years in the top flight, etc, they would have an affinity and they would recognise (ala AFC Wimbledon) thr new club as ccfc rebirthed.
I've wasted enough time on this.

Indeed but we know it will now be a fact they'd sell the butts out if a scenario like this existed.
Is it only me that could never support another football team?
Reminds me of the knobs at school who would be a Man Utd fan one week and then Liverpool the next, or the people who would say they had 2 or 3 teams. Shut up mate, you don't.
How you getting on with proving that Mr Armstrong is factually wrong in a public statement he made about a meeting he was in. That you were not in?
So far you have referred to a comment in an article that is irrelevant and ignored the comments in the same article that support what Mr Armstrongs said.
Well done keep coming with the stuff that is factually correct, in your head only.
I never take what people say as face value. I think that's naive in the extreme.
CCFC getting liquidated and someone supporting a non league club called Coventry. That was set up in response to one of the main actions that will have led to end of Coventry. The fan supports them because they no longer have their own club to support.
That reminds you of a school kid supporting Man Utd and Coventry?

Still isn't CCFC is it? What happens if Man Utd went, would they all support Man City? Doubt it.

So you don't believe Anderson on this "In the same meeting when asked about the legal situation being a barrier Anderson said "no" either then?
So you must except then that it's just as likely the the "legal noise" is just as likely to the issue as it isn't.
If Coventry City Football Clib were liquidated that's the end of that name. Everyone saying ccfc won't be liquidated but at the moment who knows, this sisu outfit will do whatever benefits them and their business, that the moment they have to drop the legals, negotiate a new deal for the Ricoh or build a ground. JR2 isn't until December apparently and if they lose ?? Perhaps another appeal ? How does a business like a FL football club carry on with no ground and perhaps no Golden Share.
Have to agree with this. If CCFC disappeared I can't see me switching my support to Cov United. I'll more likely just start watching Rugby Town more and leave it at that while wishing CU and those who have switched all the best.
I don't think people realise the possible seriousness of the situation. We have no ground, talks from our landlords ain't gonna happen until legals are dropped apparently the case isn't happening until December and if they lose again ?Who's going to back down ? We know Joy Sepalla is a hard nose business woman who will do whatever is nescesary for the needs of her business and won't give a toss about the football club.Where is the Golden Share going?
Where do you think?

Obviously to another club if ccfc don't exist or are booted out of the Football League. So where is the Golden Share going? That didn't actually explain anything.
Yes I would guess quite a few will switch to their local town club if they can.
However if Cov Utd climbed the leagues. Many more would start taking an interest. In my opinion
Does anybody else get that feeling like when CCFC score when watching other teams where you stand up and dance around and cheer without thinking about it? (Genuine Question).
No. The only comparison would be England or teams my mates or I were playing in ( personal involvement ).
I don't really get the same with England
Agree, playing it it's the same.
Never would watching somebody else play.
Wasps have said they don't want to carry on negotiations whilst it's going on in the background.
Wasps said the deal under discussion was 20-25 years.
CCFC said they were looking for a long term solution during the talks.
I can see absolutely no reason for Grendel to say the above is factually incorrect.
Nobody seems to be disputing it was what was said other than Grendel.
No one is denying they said it. I just don't believe it. It's a strange phrase for a start as it's non committal I'm saying legal action is a factor.
I'm pretty sure it isn't but it's obviously a good tactic as it deflects focus from them, especially when drones like you take everything people say at face value.
I'm pretty certain if they'd signed a proposal made that little noise would have been forgotten.
All I said back at the start of this was.....
It will look quite reasonable to the MP's and FL, that if you were going to enter into a 20-25 year business deal with someone. If you turn around and say you want any legal action they maybe dragging you into out of the way first.
You then started making a big deal about that it wasn't a 20 year deal and questioning how I knew it was. That the legal situation is nothing to do with it. Stating that I was factually incorrect in both areas.
I merely provided you with evidence of where the 20 year suggestion came from. Also where the legal noise bit came from. I then asked you to provide some evidence as to how you know it is factually incorrect?
You haven't provided any evidence and are calling me niave for believing statements.
I never said I believed anything I merely pointed out that it will sound quite reasonable.
You have someone saying they were considering signing a long term deal with someone else. The other person is on the verge of dragging them into potentially me
ssy legal action.
So they are saying lets get that out the way first.
My actual belief (if you are interested) is that Wasps think they have an Ace in their hand. They won't play that ace until it suits them. They are on the verge of getting dragged into to somebody else's legal dispute. They may feel the Ace is worth a lot more at that point than it is now. (Just my opinion)
It's very possible though isn't it that the club were offered a 20 year desk and the talks broke down as that deal was deemed unacceptable to the club?

No, only cov, although their have been instances when england were playing and I've gone mad cheering. Beckham's last minute freekick against Greece springs to mind.Does anybody else get that feeling like when CCFC score when watching other teams where you stand up and dance around and cheer without thinking about it? (Genuine Question).
