The whole Gael debate when we re-signed him really has sorted out who on here knows their football and who doesn't hasn't it?! Haha
We are seeing the tenacity, athleticism, work ethic, passing range and vision that us 'deluded folk' said he would show he possesses.
I always maintained last season that he would be a better player than Fleck (which i was ridiculed for) and it is looking increasingly likely that he will be back in the Prem or Championship come January or July next year.....

Flecks performances were superior - the whole team were superior especially midfield. He wouldn't have had a sniff last season pre October.

As for MOM who decides that. He was given that against Oldham and he clearly wasn't.

You can only say it's decided if his career progresses ahead of others you compare him to.

To me it's further evidence of the depths we have plummeted

Cue an evening of pointless debate.

Clearly our player of the season so far. You could argue that he's light weight in a tackle but I don't think even that was true last night. Getting better all the time from what I've seen personally and heard on the radio. Plus he always seems to give 100%. I don't know what more people expect from him. Personally I'm glad he's here anyway.

4th guffaw of the week kindly provided by Hill83. Luckily I had just put down my mug of minestrone soup before I saw it, or there could have been little tomatoey pasta hoops everywhere.

MOTM in a division that we have been playing in for several years now. And has been better than anyone playing for our opponents in a few games. So what is your point.

Other than you saying that he is shit and is non league quality :hilarious:

G man (Grendel).... Bigirimana was bought for a million, has numerous Championship, Premiership and Europa league appearances. Has he not already far surpassed Fleck in terms of his career achievements?!

Anyone who has ever played football in their lives would recognise Bigi's talent.
We are lucky things didn't work out for him at Newcastle.

Fair play to him he's so far proving me wrong.

But to say people that previously rated him no more about football than those that don't is laughable but congrats on getting this one right, so far.

Interesting view given they paid to get rid of him and there were no other takers.

So has Connor Thomas by that argument. Also by that argument Sordell and Simeon Jackson are our best strikers we've had at this level - sound well thought out argument.

But according to don anyone could see his talent.

Then again you said Joe Cole was the signing of last season so I won't be holding my breath on this on MLCP.

Says the only poster on here who recognised Cody McDonald's talent and believed chris Hussey to be a championship player.

Again that only makes us luckier and I actually said Armstrong was our two best signings (given that we signed him twice during the season) last season so keep making stuff up.

How do you know there were no other takers? Am sure in his agents interview he said there were other offers, dont get your problem with him. Did he shag your mrs or something like that?

I don't have any problem with him. My observations are tame compared to others - what I suspect he'd be more concerned about is the fact 90% of your posts are about him.

Bigi would never shag Ann Lucas. He's got principles.

Grendel, if you are comparing careers (which you are; 'You can only say it's decided if his career progresses ahead of others you compare him to') then yes, Jackson and Sordell (Thomas; Liverpool reserves trial doesn't count) have had better careers than Fleck as has Gael. Fleck is a decent league one player with one good half in him per game, but his CV/achievements give some context with regards his overall 'quality' and 'value'.

Really happy for him.

Been on the fence with him for the most part. He was giving the ball away far too often for my liking and seemed hurried and flustered at times.

If he has now calmed down and shown a bit more intelligence with his passing and movement, then I am the first to congratulate him.

I wasn't a big fan of Fleck's, but I don't think you can compare the two anyway. Bigi is the far busier type of player, with a good engine, whereas Fleck was a playmaker with a poor engine.

Can't say who I would prefer at the moment, but Bigi is here and if he keeps playing well then surely none of us can complain can we.

As you clearly know your football and I clearly am clueless let's have a wager for charity.

Let's say a £30 wager - he signs for a championship club by July I pay - he doesn't and you pay.

Given the issues encountered with my recent bet no offence but I may need to agree certain parameters on payment in advance.

Grendel, I never rated Bigi either and I know a few MOM's don't make a good player but please, have a little humility and admit the lad is doing really well.

How about we have a bet that he is not a non-league player in 2 years?

I doubt he's going anywhere..not because he's not talented but cos he's home and I doubt he wants to move anywhere for a while

Good news for us because he's talented.

Another bet where the only upside is being proved right on here rather than a player playing well for us.
What a time to be alive.

Bigi always had the potential but the move to n'castle came wrong time. Clearly it didn't work out there for various reasons but back where he began and clearly a confidence player. He is a different player last year for the better and maturing into a very good player. Clearly marriage and becoming a father has made him a man playing a mans game.
