I only went to Hickley of the friendlies so far and from what I saw he didn't put in any where near the performance he was supposed to have put in against Nuneaton. He was sloppy for the first twenty minutes of the half however I did think that after a bit his head got back into the game and he started linking well with the Thomas and Wilson. His positional sense was very good but only time will tell how well he turns out to be.
I will add however like the numerous others that have been mentioned I would never openly criticise the youngsters especially if they are trying their hardest. These friendly games are a good opportunity for youngsters to stake their claim for a first team place as we saw last season with Cameron who up until Turner got injured was playing very well.
Let's get this straight we may have the next Essien, Diarra, Scott Parker, Steven Gerrard, Sammy Clingan etc but at this stage there is no possible way of knowing especially from a few preseason outings. All we can say is that at times during pre season he has looked a good little player who has a good first touch and who can pick a good pass. I personally hope we do get to see him in the first team a few times this season but if he gets that opportunity and doesn't set the world on fire I won't criticise him just as long as he are tries his best.
The good thing is AT will bring him on and if he has it we will see soon enough. i dont expect him to be great this season, its just refreshing that we have 2/3 youngsters showing promise.
I played with gael at secondary school and he's definitely a class act, he practically ran every training session and was pretty much the best captain you could imagine, literally every attacking move went through him and he know how to tackle well. He's trained with Englands youth teams and there was even talk of man city signing him at one point, give him a season and im sure he'll be a key player.
The good/bad thing about it is we would never have seen him if we didnt have financial problems. If we had bought 4 or 5 outfieldplayers you think he would be given s chance?
I think at norwich he showed us that he can play against better opposition that that killer pass he did was world class, and he did a few step overs in the box and chipped it in well the macca and eastwood, I have a feeling he will be playing on sat due to the fact he was pretty much the only reserve/academy player that didn't play against sphinx

Yeah, I do-when you find a talent like that in your youth team it usually stands out. Reckon he'd get some games at most sides in our division this season, even West Ham.
When I saw him at Norwich, I noticed a lot of skill and bravery with the ball but he still needs to learn his trade. There were quite a few sloppy mistakes and not much in the way of vision. He did impress though and I'm sure he'll do well, this isn't his season from what I saw though!
