I can understand that people dislike it, but I would hardly say it doesn't make sense.
I have enjoyed the season and know how difficult it must be to reach a conclusion and tie up so many loose ends in just 6 episodes.
I had no problem with Cersei's death (if she is actually dead) and Dany's drecent into madness makes perfect sense too, as does Sansa's bitterness and Ayra's fluctuation from scared little girl to tough as old boots warrior and back again.
Just one episode to go and it will then be all over anyway. Only that be dragon attack that has irked me in any way, shape or form.
I can't wait until Sunday.
Yes, the Dany killing spree made sense to me. She has become overrun with rage and has been clearly losing the plot.Do you know why there are only 6 episodes? Because David Weiss and David Benioff, who are the show runners refused to do anymore. HBO begged them for at least two more seasons but they wanted to piss off and make Star Wars.
So they have rushed out a half baked final season.
Do you think that Danerys killing thousands of innocent people at the drop of a hat made sense? The woman who consistently vowed never to kill innocents and who once jailed her dragons because they ate a kid? She spent 7 fucking seasons preaching about being a just queen.
I understand that she was on a descent into madness and could have eventually commited genocide but I'm meant to believe that she did it on whim because she was upset?!
The writers could have given us great moments throughout the season that showed that she was truly cracking. Something brooding and foreboding which GOT used to be so good at.
But we just got her looking a bit moody on her dragon and then toasting women and children even after winning the battle. Now she's a villain with almost no character development to justify that huge leap.
That's one example of why people feel letdown. There are many more.

It's almost turning into "doing a Dexter" final season :emoji_confused:Do you know why there are only 6 episodes? Because David Weiss and David Benioff, who are the show runners refused to do anymore. HBO begged them for at least two more seasons but they wanted to piss off and make Star Wars.

not really. it has been discussed as a weapon for this series between cersei and Qyburn
Cersei used wildfire to blow up the Great Sept of Baelor didn’t she.
So where was it during the battle of Kings Landing?
Yes I noticed that but we didn't see it actually being used against the enemy. You didn't see it exploding? I've only watched on an ipad so far, but saw plumes of green smoke.

Yes, anyone would think she was the daughter of a mad king or something?
It's almost turning into "doing a Dexter" final season :emoji_confused:
She went from being upset about her mate dying and her nephew not shagging her into a becoming a mass murdering lunatic
That's completely missing the point and I already explained that everyone knew that Danerys had the capacity to become mad.
Here's the issue, again. She went from being upset about her mate dying and her nephew not shagging her into a becoming a mass murdering lunatic, in the space of one scene, without any proper context as to what made her crack.
That's shit writing, full stop.
Yep. I saw the descent over so much more than just one scene. It has been coming for weeks now.I always saw the cracks of madness there, and getting wider as the seasons progressed. Finding she was no longer the rightful heir to the throne, something she thought she was born for, and destined for all her life suddenly opened that thin line into a chasm, and moved her right over the edge, add to that the loss of her main close allies, and losing Jon Snow as a love interest... imho, it made sense. It was all a huge challenge to what she thought, for her whole life, was pre-detemined. That would have a major affect on her sanity.
It also laid down a huge marker to Jon, or anyone else, that wants to challenge her.

The pacing doesn't make sense, particularly Dany's descent, but what can you do, everyone is constrained by time, contracts etc, so we just have to "suspend belief"
They had plenty of time this season to develop her madness. Episodes 1-2 and 4 were padded out with inconsequential guff.
I'm sure cc4l will be along soon to give you some advice.. :emoji_sunglasses:
I am not dismissing it. It just all played out fine to me over a number of episodes and I could see the cracks slowly appearingNo one is disputing the fact that she was becoming disillusioned and a bit paranoid over the previous four episodes but not enough to justify the massive leap. For such a huge character to completely change her moral path, it requires more than a few moments interspersed through hours of TV to make the pay off worthwhile.
I don't know how you can't see that as an issue. Fair enough if it just doesn't bother you but to dismiss it doesn't make sense.

I even predicted it to friends in advance, so no major shift at all for me in cararterisation.

Yeah, or maybe I am more easily pleased and not intelligent enough to notice all the gaping plot holes.Fair enough. Different strokes and all that.
It didn't go the way some fans expected it to go so they're unhappy about it.I know nothing about this programme but I’ve just seen some article that the I assume final series is so bad that fans have put some huge petition demanding its re written
If it did go the way this group of people wanted, there would be a completely different group complaining about it not going the way they wanted and there would be another petition. It didn't go the way some fans expected it to go so they're unhappy about it.
If it did go the way they expected there'd be no point in watching it.
Pretty much summed it up there, larry.I don't think anyone wants one of the greatest TV shows ever to go to shit like this has. Nothing to do with what we expected, everything to do with how piss poor and lazy the writing has become.

Not as piss poor as his accent.
Not as piss poor as his accent.
I don't understand why the Aiden Gillen changed Littlefingers accent so much. For the first few seasons it was pretty steady but then it just went weird. He sounded like Sean Connery at points.
He plays Queen's manager in Bohemian Rhapsody and his accent veers from Scottish to Irish to fuck knows what.
I assume he's just shit at accents.
