I did look for a thread but couldn't find one. If there is one Nick, redirect this post please. Thanks.

Just seeing what people are currently playing? Like to play, have played and looking forward to?
Obviously the big one is GTA 6 but I'm currently playing Days Gone. I'm a big lover of open world games. RDR2 is my all time fave so not sure why it's taken me so long to play Days Gone, however, I love it. Really enjoying it. Just got to the south side so no spoilers those who have played it. Those who haven't, I highly recommend it.

Just started God of War on PS5 (I forget the subtitle), it’s alright but was expecting more. Not played one before and wanted an open world game but finding it a bit dull.

Mostly play PS Plus free games (other than FIFA) some recent ones:

Biped: fun co op puzzle game which a unique control system where each stick controls a leg.

Aliens Dark Descent: couldn’t get into it. Reckon I would if I gave it a proper go though. Was looking for an X-Com type game after playing Phoenix Point for a bit and it’s close but not quite. More narrative and RTS rather than TBS.

Return to Monkey Island: classic nostalgia fun. Enjoyed it. But I enjoy almost all point and click games and MI2 was my childhood.

PowerWash Simulator: why is this game so addictive? It’s objectively crap but i can’t stop playing.

Miasma Chronicles: really enjoyed this on my TBS strategy kick. Completed it. If you like X com it’s not as deep but fun.

Shadowrun Trilogy: loved this. X-com style but with a cyberpunk detective sort of twist. Binged the entire series back to back I loved it so much.

Death Squared: another co op puzzle game I play with my daughter. Very fun to annoy each other.

Overcooked: Great game. My family won’t play with me because I take it too seriously and go all Gordon Ramsey. Ended up nerfing the difficulty so there’s no stress and my gf will play 🤣

Cult of the Lamb: fun rogue a like co op game

Cat Quest: ditto

Anno 1800: old world city building game. Loved this and played the shit out of it but a little easy.

Cities Skylines: modern city building game love it but am terrible at it so cheat.

Wolfenstein games: didn’t think I’d like this as not an FPS fan at all but really enjoyed it and ended up completing one and playing the others.

The Settlers New Allies: another remake of a childhood game (RTS resource management), but nowhere near as good. Got bored quickly.

That’s everything on my list I remember playing recently.

Just watched this supposedly amazing advance that was demoed by NVIDIA earlier and I’ve got to be honest I think we’re hitting a wall with graphics. The environments look OK, but as soon as you add a person or some explosions it doesn’t look much different from PS4 games.

We need an advancement in animation, especially clothes and human skin rendering I think to get to the next level of photo realism. The very obviously videogame animation just slaps you right in uncanny valley.

God of War: Ragnarok. Been looking at that. After Days Gone I'm gonna do Cyberpunk 2077. If you want to do an open world game I highly recommend RDR2. Amazing story, gameplay, world and graphics. You won't regret it. I've played it in full 5 times now.

I still get Fifa to play every now and then. It's a game you can just put on and play without thought or concentration really. I'm awful at COD online. I don't see people and react quickly enough. And when I do my aim is miles off. Weird, as a GK I have pretty good reactions and I was a GPMG machine gunner in the infantry so in real life I'm actually pretty good at both

Unless you are watching these videos in 4k and over 200 frames you won't see all the details , especially the way youtibe compresses videos.

Try a channel called digital foundry

I use a 4070ti atm

But that’s the point. We can’t even get photorealistic at low res because the animation is still videogamey and takes you out of it.

Oh I did RDR2 the day it came out. Tried Cyberpunk when it first came out and didn’t like it but I hear it’s improved a lot since then.

Would really like to try No Man’s Sky but not a massive space fan.

I've been meaning to pick up Elden Ring again, it's one of those games where if I have an extended break I have no idea where I got up to 🤣

In the Steam winter sale, I picked up the EU4 bundle for £36 and Rome Total War Remastered for £8 and both games have been really good!
