Didn't the global banking crash bankrupt the country?I’d love to vote labour but just look at their front bench that’s what puts people off them.

Schools were full of left wing teachers pushing their left wing politics on kids who were more interested in riding their bmx's in the 80's and playing football than listening to teachers justifying their strike action.
Understand the thought process but there could be some unfavourable things sneaking through under the Brexit radar and I couldn't allow myself to play even the tiniest part by failing to vote.
None of the parties deserve to be voted for.

Add the fact that this is a GE that's going to be voted solely based on brexit. Education, NHS etc will take a back seat.

Im just going to leave this here. Figures from 2016, it’s only got worse for the Tories since then. Any notion that Labour is either worse for the debt, or responsible for the *global* financial crash is beyond ludicrous.

The problem was more that they inherited a strong economy and in times of strong economic growth, spent (not saying wasted necessarily) all the cash so there was no reserves for what was for most (apart from Vince cable I hear !) the unexpected financial crisis
May was much further ahead in 2017 than Boris is at this moment in time in the polls. In fact just before she announced an election some polls had her in the late 40’s so with an allowable margin of error she could have claimed just over 50%. Ultimately it was Scotland that “saved” her neck that allowed her enough power to form an agreement with the DUP and as others have pointed out Boris is highly unlikely to end up with that luxury. Especially now Ruth Davis isn’t leading the charge in Scotland for the Tories. I too struggle to see how ultimately the numbers are going to change to the benefit of the Tory Party. You know what I respected about Brown? He didn't use his children for political gain, he didn't exploit his disability, and he didn't style himself doctor. His mistake was letting the spin doctors try and turn him into Blair-lite when he became PM. What people wanted was an anti-Blair, and as a sincere deep thinker, that was exactly what he was.This won’t go down with the frothers but Brown was probably the best chancellor in my lifetime. He was probably the last serious PM we had as well.
He wasn’t perfect but he oversaw more surpluses and paid off more debt than the Tories either side of him by far.
He wasn’t perfect by any stretch, but he gets a ridiculous amount of undeserved stick here when he’s seen very differently abroad.
Plus he’s good mates with Shakira. Which is my favourite Gordon Brown face.
This is something I don’t get. The type of people who have the mentality to do something as decent as being a teacher should be judged negatively on the same mentality because of where it’s led them politically. I think unfortunately for him was that IIRC his last budget was delivered with a declaration of this is the end of boom and bust. That’s simply not true Steve. Labour ran more surpluses and a lower deficit. There’s no amount of money that would’ve cushioned us from the GFC. He maybe overspent slightly in the couple of years before, but the headroom he’d grown in the decade before that justified it.
