It’s almost like it wasn’t properly thought throughM&S to cut Christmas products in Northern Ireland
Chairman Archie Norman says customs checks will mean higher prices and less choice for customers.www.google.co.uk
M&S saying sandwiches needing three veterinary certificates to get through ?! And entire loads being turned away due to ink colour ? I mean, come on, whichever side of the argument your on that’s just ridiculous. We’re not talking about joe bloggs shitty sandwich maker.
Also I read earlier in the year 20% of all eu border checks were taking place in NI. Again this just feels disproportionate?
I’m not trying to justify the protocol, which alone brings plenty of challenges but the implementation of the rules appears to be causing totally unnecessary additional issues. A few weeks back both sides were making positive noises about tweaking things to make it a lot smoother. Not sure what happened but you’d hope a solution can be found

As I said, it’s a deal that the government negotiated, agreed to and was ratified by parliament.
That opportunity sailed in 2016. We voted for this shit show instead. The tories are fucking idiots for accepting the deal anyway ..
But with all due respect to the European Union, Northern Ireland is British and we should protect our interests
If only there was some kind of trade agreement that does away with stupid things like this and allows free trade. We could give it a catchy name like the single market, no wait, the common market. If only such a thing existed.M&S to cut Christmas products in Northern Ireland

Ratified by a GE election too.As I said, it’s a deal that the government negotiated, agreed to and was ratified by parliament.
There is an answer, but it's not going to happen now, stay in the customs union.
Ratified by a GE election too.
Where’s an expert in this field when you need one. No one ever has enough of listening to experts. If only someone had warned them
That’s not protecting our interests. That’s taking a big steaming shit on a big pile of steaming shit and going doesn’t that smell better.Hasn't sailed at all .
Northern Ireland is a part of the UK , and if there are problems with the agreed protocol we can trigger article 16 .
That's what will probably happen

See previous reply about article 16 and shit.Cool , and part of the ratified deal is the ability to trigger article 16 if its causing too many problems ... keep missing that part
Most people in GB couldn’t care less if NI left.
You really don’t have the slightest idea of what article 16 is do you and what it means.

It’s almost like when you spend years making up bullshit about someone and blaming them for everything then leave a union with them they’re not inclined to give you the benefit of the doubt. Huh
Come on Steve. This is the freedom you wanted as a third party country.
You can’t be all “let’s leave the EU because they have ridiculous bureaucratic laws” then complain about being subject to those bureaucratic laws.

Yeah, I agree, we can’t be shocked by it. It’s a joke though. People saying ‘oh just stay in CU’ are ignoring the realities of the vote as well though....but we’ve been going over all this for five years ! I’ve said my piece, some kind of food standards arrangement could/should resolve a fair few of the major border issues by all accounts. I’m no expert though
Honestly I'm at the point where I hope there's another referendum , I'd personally vote to remain just so I didnt have to hear anymore latte swigging blurts go on about it every fucking day .
If yous fuck like you moan about everything else your partners are very lucky people
What a stupid post mate.
The referendum never specified whether we would stay in the customs union or not
Nah fuck it , not arsed .
The well educated voted remain .
The thickos voted leave .
Please be another referendum I'd love nothing more than to give the whinging middle class what they want.
The word No doesn't sit right with them
I know, I’m talking about political reality. If many voted to leave because of uninhibited freedom of movement to then stay in CU just wouldn’t work. Both major parties accepted this in 2017 election
Not really. Itscurrently in the news so itsbeing discussed.
Itsin there's because the man who negotiated the deal thinks the deals shit.
People who voted for it (who come from all walks of life) would rather it isn't discussed.
Those who are against it (who come from all walks of life), are going to.
You seem to be throwing out a lot of silly generalisationsforsome bizarre reason.
Are they generalisations though ?
Haven't you all been throwing generalisations for a long time about the thick dregs of society who put you all in this situation .. I think yous all have
See if you can find any of my posts saying that.
I've actually argued the opposite for a long time, when people have come out with this 'we know what we voted for bollocks I've often said there was never consensus about what Brexit meant.
I hope to god you all get your own way .. I'd vote to make you all happy I promise
Hurrah for the well educated
