Apols if someone had posted but just watched this itv program on football shirts - it’s really good - guess what the rare of the rarest is - yes the Coventry Brown kit - last one at auction went for £500 - the women who chose it is on the program - right live wire - great story about a small company from Leicester who really started the team kit thing off ! Well recommended
Sounds worth a watch. Coincidentally just read this while talking with my dad and brother about the greatest kits. They’re Pompey fans.
They reckon it’s their salmon pink kit from the late 80s.
Back in 80/81 the club loaned the Sunday League team i played for the yellow version to play in a tournament in France i should think that has to be worth a few bob if one can be found .
I watched this one bloke saying ............. we made a kit in a shit brown colour, it was said nobody would buy it our salesman must have be brilliant

Thanks for the tip. Watched it today and thought it was brilliant. The chances of bumping into Leeds training and getting Don Revie to say yes there and then!

A few years back I bought a few records on ebay, from a bloke in Leamington. I went over to collect them and he invited me in. He was in the process of moving abroad with his young family and was having a massive clear out. I noticed a few City items - think they may have been programmes but I was pretty sure I already had what he had. From memory I think it was all that his Dad had passed on to him as he wasn't that much of a football fan.
Then.... He produced a black bin liner full of of the Admiral 'egg timer' home strip - embroidered badge and material sewn on numbers. I was gob smacked to say the least.
It transpired, Bert Edwards was a family friend and had just one day offered the whole strip to his Dad. Bert was involved mainly with the youth teams - Hence the shirts looking a bit small.
But what a collection to have! I said I would be interested in purchasing the lot but he struggled to come up with a price there and then.
Not wanting to put him on the spot further I left my number with him and asked him to call me when he had come up with a price. Years later I am the proud owner of......... Just the records.
He never did get back to me.
