Following on from the 'just can't get enough' thread what are peoples views on goal music?

Personally having Chelsea Dagger played at ear splitting volume every time we score kinda ruins the moment for me. At least at HR it was kinda subtle with a couple bars of the Sky Blue Song but I really don't understand why the fans can't just make their own noise when we score.

Stopping it all together would be an improvement.

Dont mind it, dont notice it instantly when we score and only notice once the high of us scoring begins to wear off.

Don't see why we need music before the game either. I don't want to be blasted with shitty pop crap, let the fans try & get some songs going before the team come out.
Eeeee i remeber the good old days!

To be honest we don't score that often so it will rarely be a problem for us ;o)

I say this every time. It's the stadiums links with Mercia I think. What with the LiveLounge or whatever nonsense they've come up with and that bellend JD running around. It would be much more beneficial to the atmosphere to leave it off or at least play a song that means something to the club like you hear at Nottingham for example, Liverpool whatever. Just keep the radio off!

Do they do it at other grounds? They do it when a boundary is scored in one day and 20twenty cricket.

Think it all started off with rugby league.

We could have something uplifting as a goal song.

Something like Cafe Del Mar by Energy 52.

Could play it from 2.39 when the hook kicks right in!

Awesome track but I jest.

I think each player should choose there own song and when they score it comes on just wud add abit of variety when different people score!

Totally agree with that... no wonder there is not atmosphere with load crappy music before the game. The fans should supply the songs, always used to be that way

Given that, I'm amazed I've yet to hear "Run To You", by Brian Adams. I'm sure they play that song about every 45 minutes on Mercia...
Twist and Shout gets the vote for goal music from me

In general, it's so annoying, sometimes you hear the DJ in the background at other grounds on R5 pre or post-match, and nearly everyone gets better tunes than us. Stuff like The Undertones and Buzzcocks always seem to be being played, better than anything Mercia will ever come up with. Some go for local musical legends-I've heard the Mondays, Stone Roses and New Order at Manchester. At the very least they could play "Love and Pride" and a couple of Special tunes every so often! "That's what my heart yearns for now..."

C'm off it, with our lots' incompetence? On Saturday, the first replay of the goal showed 3 seconds of Lukas celebrating about half-a-minute after the ball had hit the net: you really think they're capable of pulling off something as complicated as having 10 tunes cued up?!? Nice idea otherwise, though-kinda like the T20 cricket.

yer, would be easy, just keep Juke's song on, as no-one else is scoring anyway

Songs before the game are played too loud at nearly every ground across the country, killing the atmosphere (as even a loud crowd can't compete).

Needs turning down / off!
