I don't agree with great at all. Cost us more points than any other player last season with his lax passing and giving away penalties. Why do people what to replace McFadz? He was great in the middle of a 3 and unlike any of our other players there has regular Championship experience and has proved he can help a team stay up in that league.
I'm not. I'd certainly start the season with him as things stand. But I can see an extra year in the legs and more astute forwards and high presses might expose some of those weaknesses we saw earlier in the season that saw him give away a few penalties.

Apart from Rotherham (where the whole team was terrible) and giving away a penalty for the first goal against Peterborough, what points did he cost us?I don't agree with great at all. Cost us more points than any other player last season with his lax passing and giving away penalties.

Although we could lose Walsh mccallum and Ohare from the first team squadYeah for a squad to win league 1 under our circumstances of playing in brum every other week, losing 3 matches all season and the togetherness shown, it would be madness to rip that template up.
4-5 signings are needed for sure to compete but I wouldn't start ripping up the squad, that's madness.

Where’s this “replace McFadz” nonsense coming from ? Yes he made mistakes who don’t ? He’s a leader & without a doubt a key player & leader for the team, not a chance he’s gonna just be dropped by Robins if you cannot see what he brings to the table you need to learn the basics of football

We’re signing Chaplin?!?Is this going to go on longer than the Chaplin Thread?

I think mason will leave he’s too small and weak for me I think Robins also sees this after Rotherham he was dropped he got bulliedHmm don't write off Mason either he was decent at the start of the season, no disgrace at losing his place to someone who earned a deal with a premier league club!
Being number 1 choice again may bring out the best in him too.
Who you calling big nose?Is this going to turn into a Life of Brian 'what have the Romans ever done for us?' sketch?
Never really understood why Mason was dropped. He was our PotS up until that point and had one dodgy game against Rotherham and that was that. Didn't even really feel like McCallum was necessarily an upgrade, perhaps just more suited to wing back.
Easy to forget that Mason singled-handedly kept Pompey's entire right side at bay on his own after Kastaneer got sent off, he was brilliant that night and certainly not easily bullied.
Robins took a while to realise that Doyle was not up to it in L1
How many points Fadz cost us last season in your book? I doubt it will be many more than the 2 Dabo cost us at Oxford, but no-one is saying replace Dabo are they?I don't agree with great at all. Cost us more points than any other player last season with his lax passing and giving away penalties.

Are you related to a @_brian_ perchance?
I think you nailed it, Mason doesn’t fit the 5-3-2 system we deployed. McCallum, whether he played a decent ball in or not had an insane amount of acceleration over the initial 15-20 yards and could offer an outlet Mason could not. The fact a wing back could do that at L1 level alone is a useful weapon.
If we’re to keep the system then LB could be our most important signing this summer.
