And the point being, I'm being slightly facetious but... to suggest Hamer, unproven at the top level, is worthy (at present) of a place in the Netherlands squad ahead of a chap who was one of the more highly rated youngsters at Ajax, won trophies with them, got a move for £35mil to one of the biggest clubs in the world...
But the bloke who can't get in the Championship team of the year and, until the second half of the season, had a reputation of being talented sure, but blowing hot and cold while also being a red and yellow card liability, is somehow more worthy of a place, as it stands? It's down to Hamer to prove himself at a higher level, and then he might be able to compete with some of the others.

And how well has he played in them.
