I know he has a great C.V. but for me something is not right here. He has been coach under the last few managers and we have had our problems in defence, midfield, set piece defending etc. Thorn has tried to instil a different pattern of play and yet some old habits keep returning to thwart him?
Tactics were all wrong at the start v Blackpool. Changed during the game twice and at one point think we picked the wrong starting 11. I think Harrison's coaching may be failing Thorn's thinking and approach tbh.
Well he is the one consistent factor at the club with all the comings and goings of managers and we are still tactically naive at times. Not sure, but I can see why people would be starting to cast a critical eye over him.
just a caveat on that ............ managers manage the squad and coaching staff, end of the day it is the managers decision what team goes out and what formation we play. I would assume that AT and Harrison talk a lot but bottom line is AT is paid to make the decisions in matches and training

For once I have to disagree osb!
He has to delegate a lot of coaching to Harrison to work on. If they fail to have a good procedure worked on in training it may well be something Thorn (like any superior) needs to address with the man.
Sure Thorn takes the can for success and failure but if Harrison has not done his task properly or as expected that will be seen on a match day as a problem area. Thorn can't cover everything and would expect the coach to have certain systems and ethics instilled in the players.
