"You've got to have a strategy for football and I will continue to give the youngsters an opportunity in the first team," Dulieu told the Observer's Steve Carpenter.
Basically Dulieu is taking the piss out of us. We need to get the idiots out, yet only a handful of us want to do anything about it. We are being taken for mugs.
Tango Ken is finished and almost insignificant now, the latest news of SISU saying "come on then make us an offer" is the same as waving the white flag, those 2 new names mentioned in the Telegraph as directors are there simply to broker the best deal possible for SISU, our biggest enemy is time, need a takeover to happen now, possibly a new manager in place and new blood brought in by January 1st.
His interview with the CT did make me think about his role as 'Director of Football Operations'. I think Thorn is merely training the team and picking the side!
COVENTRY City's new head of football operations has compared the club's strategy of promoting from within to that used by European Champions Barcelona.
Ken Dulieu will take up a more active role alongside side Andy Thorn in his new role after resigning as chairman last Friday.
Along with negotiating player contracts and acting as the middleman between Thorn and the board, the Portuguese-based businessman will continue to focus on the club's academy, which has proved to be a huge success this season in the same way it has for the popular Spanish club.
"You've got to have a strategy for football and I will continue to give the youngsters an opportunity in the first team," Dulieu told the Observer's Steve Carpenter.
"It's not my model, but the Barcelona model works pretty well and if that has been tried and tested for many years then it doesn't seem to be a bad model to follow.
"Our under 18's side are currently top of the league, we have some excellent coaches in place, a superb director in the academy with Gregor Rioch and it's much more integrated with the first team squad now.
"We've seen the benefit of that this year with five players breaking through into the squad which is unheard of in recent times in Coventry; in fact I'm not even sure if that has ever happened so that is one strong positive I would take out that we have actually created.
"The academy is the lifeblood of the club and a community, and our strategy should be to build that academy and make it as successful as we can at all levels."
Eight senior players left the club in the summer, and several current first team stars, including skipper Sammy Clingan and Martin Cranie, have yet to sign new deals and are, as it stands, free to leave the Sky Blues in June.
And although Dulieu confirmed the club are currently in negotiations with several first team players, he has revealed the club will not be held ransom by some of its higher earners.
"We don't want to lose those players but we cannot afford to breach our wage structure because that way is bankruptcy," he added.
"The average wage for a player in the Championship is around £4,000, now if players come to us and ask for £12,000, we simply can't afford it.
"Some players are demanding those high wages, but you always get that and that's not always necessarily the players, they can be driven by the agents.
"It's my job to negotiate the contracts that are currently on the table and if some of our players who are coming out of contract believe they can double their money elsewhere, then that is quite an emotional pull.
"But we've got to keep to within our wage structure to make sure we don't become insolvent again or go down the route we have gone down in the past."
