COVENTRY CITY today confirmed they had signed Romulus’s young striker Courtney Richards.
The Sky Blues have offered a two-year scholarship to the 16-year-old front-man after a series of impressive displays for the non-league Sutton Coldfield club and successful trial with City’s academy.
Academy boss Gregor Rioch said: “He’s done very well over the last four weeks and we are delighted to bring him to the club.
“He’s a goal scorer who holds the ball up well, brings others into play and is quick as well.
"He can work down the sides, receives the ball well and gets into the box and provides something a little bit different to what we have got, so he will be a good addition to the group.”
Mark Taylor, the non-league club’s youth development director, said: “Everyone at the club wishes Courtney every success, and like Liam Mayer who joined Walsall FC last season, we will follow his progress at the higher level.
