I actually thought he put in some good defensive work in the 2nd half to support Mason.
Attacking wise... it was his 2nd consecutive poor game at home... Early days, but he needs to improve.
We don't have anyone on the bench who can play left, unless that ohare can play there. He certainly did and why he wasnt substituted. He had a very good game. First half involved in some lovely attacking moves. Second half rolled his sleeves up and ran the hard dirty yards.
I do notice a LOT of the time, with the stray 50/50 balls to nowhere, hes very slow to react and is normally on his heels and gets to MOST of these second. A little bit more awareness and he could nick loads of balls in and around their box because hes not slow by any means, just slow to react.Love Hiwula but I really feel he lets himself down by not running into the channels and 90% of the time wants the ball at his feet, even Godden yesterday was making the runs he should’ve been making! Is this down to the fact he just isn’t a natural winger or it is just laziness?
Last season I felt he was coming inside a lot more which I think he’s happier doing, definitely looks likes he,s been told stay out wider when in possession so far this season.
9 games, 3 goals, 3 assists thus far.
Yep I think that’s fair. I thought his skill on the ball on occasion Saturday was really excellentI think due to the lack of any obvious weak point in the team, people are pointing the finger at Hiwula because he goes largely unnoticed for long periods. Doesn’t mean he’s playing poor. He’s effective and does his job well. Quick feat and a good finisher that’s versatile across the front line. As above, 3 goals 3 assists and was great on Saturday. A very important player for us this season

Anyone seen if he was offside Saturday. Took his chance really well
He's told to run on the inside of the defender, his starting position means he can't run into the channels really, it'd be pointless anyway. His movement is good just we're often a bit too slow to see it.

and he did it consistently on Saturday but as you say, we weren't finding him.
Mason seems to find him with that ball more often when he's playing.
I've not been impressed with him so far this season but he was much improved on Saturday. Not just the assists but some good link up play and working the defenders.
Do think we'll need to move him on next year as he's not Championship material.
