I can understand why people buy Vinyl but how many people still bother with CDs?
Totally agree and yep, I do still sometimes buy CD's.I went in the HMV in Cov recently (is that it's 4th location in the city centre now?) and bought 3 CDs, first time I'd bought a CD for years. They're cheap as chips now and the sound quality of a CD will always be better than any streamed or downloaded digital audio file. There is something still quite enjoyable about browsing HMV, certainly more so than Amazon.
I know Vinyl is higher quality but is a CD much better than me downloading half decent quality music files? I've never noticed much difference between them.
I guess if they go down the music community record shop type feel they will do better than hmv did before.
You can change the setting to turn the quality up. Can't notice much of a difference with cd.I just use Spotify now. It’s much easier and the sound quality is excellent

Completely agree. The convenience is great for those of us who remember the days of Walkmans and portable CD players but there is a trade off. People won't even spend a few quid on half decent headphones, although they will happily buy overpriced Beats to make some sort of statement.Plus don’t know about people on here put I’m the only person I know who listens to music through a proper hifi system. Almost everyone else I know uses their tv / headphone or docks for a phone. Lost count of number of times someone has tried to show off a small wireless speaker to me, and I’ve just shook my head.
I keep telling you to scrap dvds and get Netflix!!!Great news. I buy CDs and collect vinyl. Nick says who buys CDs ? Their still popular and fairly cheap too.
HMV sell a wide selection of CDs, so along with charity shops you can pick up bargains

Haven't got a dvd player or storage to keep them. No point or need for them. You are definitely Mr. Death to the High Street aren't you.
Or to shop in town at all.Haven't got a dvd player or storage to keep them. No point or need for them.
Not really, no. Unless it is something specific that can't be got anywhere else.Or to shop in town at all.
Is that still open? Last time i saw they all looked faded like it was from the 80sThis thread has reminded me, every day I go on Daventry road and in the row of shops near the Open Arms there's a video rental store that looks like it's from the 80s but is somehow still active, always wanted to go in.
