So Hockaday has been installed as an early favourite for the Crawley job. Out of contract so could be a cheap option for CTFC, and also one less call for Mowbray to have to make.

I know betting odds mean very little, especially so soon into a recruitment process, but still think if he had the chance of another shot at being number 1, he'd take it

Would be a good fit for both sides imo. Obviously prefer Mowbray for ourselves but upturn in performance also coincided with Hockaday's appointment. I wish him well, wherever he goes, fairly sure he won't be stopping here!

Wouldn't have thought so with Venus and Proctor not too far away

Dean Saunders to Dave Hockaday.. bit of a come down surely. Don't they want Pressley?

Good luck to him - no real idea of the pretence he was brought to the club with but can't see him having a future under TM so presume he'll be looking for work one way or another.

Why is it one less call for Mowbray to make? Hockaday was on a short contract until the summer like Mowbray. If Mowbray is appointed he will bring his team in.

I don't think it's a come down from Saunders. Chesterfield supporters are not impressed at him being appointed there. Apparently he's had 3 teams and 3 relegations, although I'm not bothered enough to check if that's correct.

I thought that the Cook to Pompey move was a strange one.

On Hockaday I don't really care if he goes TM needs his own men around him, let's hope that SP gets a job and we don't have to pay off McFarlane

Sure he'd still have to decide if he wanted him to be part of his set up? Just because his contract is ending doesn't mean TM hasn't got a call to make. He might have been impressed by his in the short time they've worked together?

I was suprised by that move too tbh. From one team he's just got to te play offs at it's attempt (they did only get promoted to this league the season before last didn't they?), to a league two team.

Did McFarlane sign a co tract extension at the same time as SP? I can't remember if he did

But he is in the position to make a decision without the bind of the contract....he is either in or out...can't get simpler than that ....and it will be Mowbrays trusted team all day long.

Guess it does make it a lot easier for him

Couldn't even keep the Kidderminster job! Who lasted the longest? Him or Thorn? Both tried and appear to have failed
