Can't blame it all on the pitch though, as the egg-chasers haven't started playing at the Ricoh yet....

one thing I do think is helping at St. Andrews is, from what I've seen, when it's not going well the fans don't seem to get on the players backs as much.
Obviously the reason we're winning is because this is a far better team but I do think it helps. I know people will say 'the bloke near me does it' but I don't think it's filtering from the stands to the pitch like it does at the Ricoh.

Hopefully if/when we get back fan will learn to be a bit more patient.

I wanted to strangle Mr Negativity in front of me last night. Don't think he'd ever kicked a ball in his life, and every mistake was greeted with 'rubbish' rather than encouragement. i tried to drown him out, and to be fair his daughter(?) kept pulling him up about it!

It has always been a problem with us that the bigger the crowd is the more negativity there is. I think the regular attendees went through a change in the league 2 season that reverted to more support when things went wrong an encouragement to improve. This obviously hasn't filtered to our irregular supporters who are used to berating and criticising. The Accrington community day stick in my memory as a guy who admitted he'd not been there that year was calling Bayliss dogshit after 5 minutes, I know we were poor that day but the crowd didn't help at all.

how many home wins do auto promoted teams tend to go get anyone know?

if we could turn some of those draws and losses into victories this season could be huge. 15 home wins seems very good? limit losses to 5 if possible

There was a point last night where one of our players kicked it out of play by mistake and the crowd just seemed to liven up and make a fair bit of positive noise.

Yeh i think it was Dabo who passed into the space, but no one had carried on the run and it just went out. One or two began to moan but were drowned out by an encouraging 'roar' from the stands

I said in an earlier post/different thread that we could 'easily' get 15 home wins if we keep playing as we are at home.

This would mean from the remaining 17 home games winning 10 of them (and even draws against opponents restricts their picking up extra points). There will be a small group of teams who could potentially outplay us (Posh, Pompey, Sunderland, Rotherham, Ipswich - but it doesn't always go like that, and there will always be a Yeovil type game once a season, which could be against an unfancied team). Get Kelly back and we will look more solid than last night. I still reckon we will get to the 15 win mark and hope that we realise that sometimes a draw isn't the end of the world - especially against the better teams. I really would like to chalk up that first away win, and would st take 3 points from the next 2 games if you offered it me now (sod it, I want to stay unbeaten!!)

Being top of the league will give our players an extra 20% effort to do even better and confidence breeds success.

If we maintained this run over a full season we'd score 92 points

Most probably absolutely nothing to do with the pitch, or negativity with bigger crowds, and everything to do with the fact we have a better squad than last year.

4 or 5 times in the last 15 mins and the crowd were pretty quiet as we weren’t playing well. Got to make a difference. The explosion when we scored was brilliant

I always find it galling just how many games you can afford to lose in a 46 (44) game season in order to achieve automatic promotion. The idea that we can go a whole season and lose only 6/7 times seems so unlikely. That's just the cynic in me because we've never experienced anything like that, but other teams do it, and perhaps this is our year.

Yes, I actually felt a bit sick when I realised that we could win all our home and draw all away games for the entire season and it still wouldn't have been enough points for autos 2 season ago.
