Lee Burge isn't from Coventry. He just came through our academy. Plus, if ypure going for a homegrown keeper, surely Kirkland gets the nod far before Burge would anyway.Just a thought for a bit of fun. As in International Football, what if there was a ruling in domestic football that a team could only field players that are from that town or city (or within a given radius), how would CCFC fare with our home grown players? e.g. Lee Burge, Marcus Hall, Dietmar Bruck, Gary McSheffery, Bobby Gould, Reg Matthews, Callum Wilson. These are just a few I can think of. What sort of team could be made up from these guys? Anyone think of any more?

I think Andy Blair (saw him crossing the road from his shop y'day and said 'hello') came down to Beduff from Scotland as a youngster.Andy Blair.
Okay, so I got Burge wrong. I won't lose sleep over that. Jeez! And anyway, Kirkland is more Leicester than Cov. Born in Barwell.Lee Burge isn't from Coventry. He just came through our academy. Plus, if ypure going for a homegrown keeper, surely Kirkland gets the nod far before Burge would anyway.

He was but there was another who was a right back Bobby Gould bought for us from Luton in 1984, he had started his career at Nuneaton Borough.I thought Kirk Stephens was a snooker type chappie from Canadia?
Oh him? Yeah I remember now!He was but there was another who was a right back Bobby Gould bought for us from Luton in 1984, he had started his career at Nuneaton Borough.
Ian Muir. Played at Cov Boys with my old man. Went from there to QPR and finally ended up at Tranmere. Still their all time top scorer. When it comes to local sporting prowess we’d probably be able field a better Rugby team than football team. Had some good players play for England down the years. There's a fella, Ian Murison (?) Think he spent most his career 1980's - '90's at Tranmere. Pretty sure he's a Cov kid.
