I don't know honestly what I would do. But this is where I said the club haven't made it easy for fans to get there. They should be promoting "discounted travel" on trains, run buses from the town centre to the ground free of charge or of little cost. They haven't done enough in my eyes to make the trip plausible for some people.

Return to Ricoh, Yes.
A brick laid at alternative, No

I believe that a new stadium would ultimately land the club with so much debt that the small stadium would not be able to service it.
Effectively the end of CCFC would be destined to a slow death in 5 years time. I won't wait around to see it.

they should offer it as an add on when you buy tickets online or at ground.

take me for example i live Hillmorton side of Rugby and can jump on the M1 at junc18 in about 3/4mins tops, head south get of at the next junction and be in sixfields a hell of a lot quicker than i can get to the Ricoh. + the tickets are cheaper, + the car parking is free. so for me i stand to gain financially.

BUT and it is a big BUT, if i wanted to watch football in Northampton i would be a Northampton fan.

I also live in Rugby and have the same reason for not going. My team is Coventry City not Northampton 2nds.

I think if we were returning to the Ricoh it would only take a week or two, they've got the pitch laid any all that so it could all happen very quickly. If there was another match at Sixfields prior to an announced Ricoh return I'd be tempted to go to be honest as hopefully in years from now when we're back in the prem (wishfull thinking!) it would be one of those odd little football quirks 'did you see them when they spent a few months playing in Northampton'.

As for a new ground I'd want to see the thing being built and some evidence that a new stadium is a better option for CCFC than moving back to the Ricoh.

Well of course originally Fisher said the groundshare would be in the West Midlands, however it seems Walsall/Birmingham turned us down. Therefore it seems Sixfields was the last option only chosen by necessity. However if I chose to go, which I don't it would be my preferred option. About 32 minutes on a direct train, or by car a simple trip down the A45 onto the M45 (which is always virtually empty) and then 7/8 miles down the M1. Its this side of the City Centre, and basically a straight road in and out.
Walsall involves either getting 2 trains or having to travel the dreaded M6 which is often gridlocked. Although Birmingham is nearer, the time difference is neither here or there, indeed the Coventry Road is littered with traffic lights seemingly every 500 yards. Plus even if crowds reached 3,000/4,000, that would still look deserted in a much bigger stadium.
Indeed Fisher can thank his lucky stars that the team is not only winning but playing fantastic football, because if this season had produced similar levels of performance that fans have had to endure over the past God knows how many seasons, then I suspect that crowds would have struggled to reach even 4 figures.

I currently live in north Carolina, and have flown back home twice since the move out of Coventry.
unfortunately,both times we have played a "home"game
I can honestly say that the extra distance ontop of my 3700 mile trip isn't an issue or the reason why I didn't go.

as regards to my last post on here , I was just being blunt and honest, and although I can't explain myself too good due to my dislexia , it seems many fellow Coventry city supporters feel a similar way but put it in a far more articulated way.

its ironic were playing Mk dons soon as personally it almost feels like sisu are trying to engineer a similar kinda move , also, I'm sure there won't be many people from Wimbledon attending .

Nothing to do with distance for me.

If I went to Northampton I'd feel like I was supporting our owner's decision to move us out of Coventry, and as italiahorse said, actually prolonging how long it will take to resolve the situation.

I'd feel exactly the same if we were playing anywhere other than at the Ricoh.

(edit: At least I think it was italiahorse who said that - apologies if I'm misquoting!)
