We need to calm down. We have lost one game and some of the mood swings going on are a bit heavy.

It will be what it will be. We are in a great position and have a few tough games to navigate. Try to relax!
It’s more than 1 game. Lampard has done a great job since he came. Just need to keep one step ahead of the pack. Saturday we need a pick-me-up.

There's a buzz in the air and a very real chance at the playoffs. I believe as always that if we are in the playoffs we will win it.
Burnley coming up will show an indication of where we are. We controlled much of the game at Sheffield so let's not make out the top 3 are on another level. I the last 10 games or so we have been better than all of them. Had we got going early in the season we would likely be sitting in an auto spot right now. It's ours to lose atm.

I can seriously see Leeds dropping out of automatics now. Especially if Burnley beat us on the weekend.

It would be hilarious for Leeds to bottle it again. Hopefully that would break them psychologically should we play them again.

As much as I wouldn’t begrudge them, it just adds another club to the parachute merry go round. If we don’t go up then let’s hope we get rid of the current top 3 to give us a better shot next season.

Birmingham and Wrexham will be an interesting prospect as well.

I think we had most of the ball against SU but I don't think we controlled much of the game.

We had most of the ball because they let us. We were causing them no problems at all and were happy to just let us pass it around for a bit not really getting anywhere. When they did win it two or three passes and they were through on goal.

SU were very much in control of that game.

Looks like Mboro have hit form at the right time, can see them taking West Brom’s spot and finishing 6th. take a point on Saturday and 4 points from that run of games is brilliant, then it’s all down to us, nothing to fear about the last 6 games, all winnable

don‘t think we could have asked for a better run of games than That to get a play off spot, if we can’t get enough points from those then we don’t deserve it,

I know it sounds negative, but that’s just how I feel, probably after nearly 40 years of supporting Cov but I have a bad feeling that making the play-offs will come down to the final day against Boro, and it’ll be their moment for payback. They win, get in, and we drop out.

I agree with all the others saying that we wouldn't win play offs anyway, top 3 teams are too strong, etc but I would love to be in the mix at least. I am just desperate to not have to win on the last day.

Too many Cov fans saying "we always beat Boro", I don't like it.
must be exhausting going through life like this

lets worry about burnley saturday

That’s what I thought am I missing something, wev‘e been on one of the best runs we’ve ever been on , just coming out of the hardest 3 game run any teams had and we’re still in 5th, with the games left can see us going unbeaten until the end of the season, 5th spot and Sunderland over 2 legs to get to another play off final, if your still feeling negative after that I give up,

Too many people overthinking it and dooming for no reason.

There will be a point in a few years where we look back in fondness at this period of "failing to get promoted" and will be ready to give an arm or a leg to be competitive like we are now.

Enjoy being in the race, what will be, will be.

I think Birmingham will be in the mix for promotion next season.

Wrexham is a more difficult call but if they continue to get serious financial backing then they could be as well.

I think it will be be a real battle between a lot of closely-matched teams next year. With a bit of luck we won’t be involved because we will be in the Premier League.

Let’s call this the catastrophising thread.

How about we finish in the playoffs beat Bluderland in semis then play Sheff Utd in the final and stuff them.

Or finish in the top six comfortably and beat Boro to ruin their playoff chances?

Lots of if, buts and maybes.

One thing is for certain-with Rudoni and Sheaf back(ish) even without Dovin we have a decent team, on our day, to beat anyone in this league -even the top three.

I really don’t mind Burnley or Sheff Utd as I still think they’re beatable.

Like after the Hull game this forum full of catastrophisers.

I expect the positivity to return after we beat Burnley.

The fact we are in 5th after the dreadful start has eased my worry. I never expected to be in this position. If we make it then great, if we don’t then it’s been a valiant effort

And just like the last 3 seasons, We’re sitting wondering what might have been if we didn’t start our season 15 games in

really hope Frank gets us going early next season

One game at a time. We’re more consistent than the others and crucially we’re not drawing games.

winning two and losing one is more points than drawing all 3.
Glass half empty, however, and losing 2 and winning 1 (like we just have) is the same points total as drawing 3

As Bill Bailey said, "I'm British, I crave disappointment.
My eldest daughter who is an occasional fan pointed out Cov fans are never happy. Example, we beat Sunderland 3-0 and someone rings into CWR saying Simms is shit.

Well all that early season stuff and we could have been in autos stuff is nonsense pipe dream stuff. For whatever reason we where way off.

Lampard has turned it around, but we were still way off against Leeds, Ipswich and Sheffield United. When lower teams were not?

Derby have embarrassed us over two fixtures. and two managers. Oxford almost.. It is a tough league with fine margins.

Frank Lampard has put the play offs in reach, so he has to keep the team competitive until the end of the season.

Looking forward to Burnley to see how we react to a pants performance against Sheffield United; players, Frank and the coaches.
