How has Pressley lost the dressing room? (1 Viewer)

I've seen on a few threads, people suggesting SP might have lost the dressing room. Is there anything solid to back this up or are people just assuming it because some players looked half arsed?

Newcastle fans were saying the same about their team and Pardew two months ago. Now won 5 of their last 6.

I know we're not Newcastle but just wondered what substance there was behind such thoughts?

I think it is close, half of the players are loanees so there is a lack of commitment when the going gets tough, discipline is the poorest i have seen for many a year. Something is not right but i still think this is closely linked to the antics 'off the pitch' and i still think there is more that we are unaware off behind the scenes that are yet to materialise.

Good post Stu...I didn't consider the amount of loanees and the fact that their commitment might not be as great.

Lots of reasons where do you begin? It will be interesting tomorrow to see who he drops and how the team responds to his public outcry...

because a few jumped on the fact Johnson did his captains bit along with Nouble in the dressing room the other week...endorsing the point SP was making. Some saw it as them taking over rather just taking the cue to kick a bit of ass and gee a few up.

We need a few more voices in the dressing room and on the pitch, too many at this club (yet again) who think they can just coast along. Not enough self pride about getting the job done.

What are they ecky? I mean...has anything been said in public about him having arguments with players (other than after Sundays shambles)?

If that's it Hobo, then I don't think he's lost the dressing room. I can't imagine Roy Keane sitting quietly as Eric Djemba-Djemba pranced about in the Utd midfield. Totally agree about needing more voices. I've got nothing wrong with open and honest feedback in the dressing room.

Might be that "bomb squad" he created, formations, tactics, man management? Might be the club is seen by many as a complete basket case lacking any forward thinking or plans.
Owners that come out with complete bullsh#t and who don't care?
Who knows?
This latest outburst I think shows pressley is a desperate man, how much power he has though over who will go will be seen shortly...

Poor discipline from everyone, captain headbutting someone, Burge lashing out and players getting into argument with fans.
Poor performances
Only a rumour but apparently Clarke told him he didn't know what he was doing and thats why he was shipped out to Yeovil
Pressley today admitted in his interview there was some sort of incident in the dressing room after Sunday

He may turn it around but it's going to be a long road to recovery.

Nobody knows do they really. I've heard Pressley is actually a lizard and is only here to form the Coventry branch of the illuminati.

I am not sure he has lost the dressing room as such but clearly the message from manager/coaches has not been getting through to the playing squad properly.

Trouble is if there are disgruntled players or even the odd one that has lost an element of respect for SP then that could be a real problem that spreads unless it is nipped in the bud quickly. Has he done enough to rectify that with todays press conference only time will tell.

We are just mere fans of the Club, we only get rumours and no true hard facts. It is patently obvious that if your
squad consists of freebies, loans and players just picking up an extra seasons wage before retiring you are going
to have problems. You need players who will fight for the Club and be proud to wear the shirt. We are blooding young
academy players in one of the toughest leagues in the UK if not the world.

Without investment we will continue to struggle' but at least after Sunday's diabolical performance heads will roll.

I'am not calling for the managers head, his hands are tied by our diabolical owners who are not providing adequate
funding to bring in better players.

I think that SP has to be very careful. He is at risk of developing a reputation for being disloyal to his players on a whim. I can't quite make out if his policy of 'Bombing players' is having an adverse effect.

Think about it from your perspective, would you give 100 % to a relationship with a person whom you know will love you today, loath you tomorrow? Baker and Co will have a view I am sure.

I wish SP all the luck in the world, I hope he becomes a CCFC legend.

Is our recent run of form a whim? People have criticised him for not saying how it is? Do certain players performance levels merit loyalty? How have they been reacting to defeat? What is their attitude in training? Do they want to develop as individuals and as a team?

3-5-2 to 4-4-2 have they really performed any better. Formations are a starting point, then it is about reacting to situations and making decisions. It is about giving your colleagues options, about covering each other's backs. When the ball goes dead you reform to your formation. The woeful lack of opportunities is down to players not making the right runs and the right passes on the pitch. It is about players hiding and lacking determination and drive. Not making the most of dead ball situations. Basic, basic skills they all should have and do. The missing ingredient is pride and desire.

I'm pretty sure there have been several teams that have done just fine with freebies, loans and players on a last payday. It's called football outside the Premiership.

There is no evidence whatsoever that what the amount of money 'invested' is directly proportional to how much you fight for the shirt you wear.

For god's sake Fred, stop these sensible observations and postings.

What constitutes a freebie, a player who has not had his contract renewed by his Club because he is not good enough. Very often it will be bad
attitude that gets them kicked out of previous Clubs,we seem to have a surfeit of those.
Dress it up anyway you like, the players we have are not good enough to wear the "SKY BLUE"

You are talking about a few small minority of players with bad attitudes.

Technically - Cyrus Christie was a freebie, as was Franck Moussa. Bacary Sagna, Ashley Cole, Frank Lampard - all free transfers.

Whether they are good enough to wear the shirt is down to abilty and desire predominantly. Not cost.

IF Pressley has lost the dressing room (I don't know that is the case), that says more about the squad for me than it does about the manager.

What the players need to worry about right now is not what they think about SP but what the fans think about them.
