You agree a playing budget for transfers and salaries. Sometimes it will be more economic to sign better quality free transfers on higher wages than to sign contracted players of the same quality with a fee.
Sure but if you're propping up those expensive, 3 year contracts on income from sales then it is unsustainable unless you can develop players and sell them on consistently. That is much harder to do with a small, undersized squad heavily reliant on loans.
with the playoff run making us close to 4 mill and season ticket sales hopefully hitting between 12-14k minimum spend has to be 6 mill and if Vik goes we’ve got to be looking at 10mill plus.
10m to 15m. Closer to 10m if just Gyokeres is sold and closer to 15m if Hamer is also sold. This should leave a fair bit towards the higher wage bill. But it could be less depending on any clause added by Brighton.
The problem we would have is if we sell Gyokeres for a large amount other clubs will raise the asking price for players we're interested in.
