before the increased running costs of opening the Ricoh means it'd have been cheaper to stay in Northampton?

Or have we already reached that point?

Don't worry "as soon as we're back at the Ricoh then I'm there".

tbh, I don't even want to get into blame.

It's somewhat uncomfortable though that we must be getting close, given the scaling up needed at the Ricoh?

Sure won't be helping our ffp!

Yeah, it is a little concerning. Crawley were hardly the biggest draw so that maybe had something to do with it too. Exeter will be even lower because of the opposition and the competition. As you say it has to come to a point where the crowds won't cover the costs.

tbh, I don't even want to get into blame.

But we are still in the top 4 supported clubs in this league.

Also got one of the biggest grounds to maintain.

Someone has to do that, too.

So we're either (accidentally this time?) distressing ACL as they pay for it, or it goes into that there undisclosed rent pot.

At this rate, Michael could have been paying the rent after all!

people go on about food and beverages they brought about 150 so may have spent about £300 by the time you have paid the staff etcetera be in to a minus.

I went for a pie at half time straight to the front now that is unheard off.

Seriously though are the Fans to blame for this in any way at all?

IMO No

As I said, I don't want to get into blame.

I didn't go because the honeymoon period's over, I'd rather earn some cash while I can(!) and it's all a bit depressing.

Don't have to justify myself either way.

Doesn't stop, however, the crowds being concerning. People get defensive when others say the crowd's shit, take it personally as a sleight against them.

Well... the crowd was shit.

I wasn't there, but it was still shit, even if I contributed to that shitness!

Yup :D

Out of interest (honestly now ;) ) what was the atmosphere like today? Have to shout to the bloke sittingn next to you and hope the breeze is carrying in the right direction for him to hear you?

Impossible to answer OP without rental figures. Based on the old deal, I think we worked out about 8k was the break even this season. How much lower we can go depends on how good the new rental deal is.

We're about where I'd expect us to be ignoring any Sixfields effect, just from natural decay after two more nothing seasons. Next season we'll drop another 1-1.5k unless we're around the playoffs. 4-5k could be very realistic in 2 or 3 seasons with no improvement on the pitch.

Got to say, from the radio it sounded like games from Sixfields, but CWR said the atmosphere was noticeably better than it was there.

Funny how all the ones moaning about the crowd listened to it on the radio.

Atmosphere was ok for the size of the crowd.

Yeah, even before we moved from the Ricoh, there was always going to be the concern once promotion wasn't as easy as some might have thought, the crowds would plunge.

Again I'd kind of expect a Sixfields-esque atmosphere, as much because the crowd to capacity is about the same proportion now!

Would be interested to know an answer though (that was calling a spade a spade ;) )

To be honest, this whole Wasps thing has kicked a bit more enthusiasm out of me. Half my enjoyment is coming on here and talking football, coming on to see yet more bickering and bullshit makes me wanna do something else. Have already missed more games at the Ricoh this season than ever before.

I'm sure it'll only take a decent run, or even a good game at home to get me back into the habit, but man do I feel drained from this "hobby" at the moment.

Why do you think I bogged off for a couple of years? ;)

tbh the objective part of me finds it fascinating as it all plays out, and when les Reid reappears with tweets about Ranson buying into Wasps and the stadium, it adds a superb bit of surrealism to it all, like Scooby Doo unmasking the evil villain, that almost makes it worthwhile!

But yeah, a 2-2 draw would have been enough to encourage me to go up the next game in the past (I accept we win less than we don't, so goals are all it takes for me ;) ) but it's not exactly fun, is it!

I could hear the scoreboard side from family zone. Couldn't hear their fans at all though
