And I still don't get why people are getting hung up on the club not paying market value (or what they deem market value). Why would you not want the club to pay as little as possible for the stadium? If it was new owners wanting to get the stadium for as little as possible everyone would be praising them.
Who says that they plan to sell Dong?
Back to the same old thing. There is no evidence to suggest that the Stadium would be bought and not owned by the club.
Do you really believe that olderskyblue?
It looks as though ACL/CC have left a door open for discussion, so yes, SISU should re-instigate them......if they actually want to return to the Ricoh of course
and there is no evidence to suggest that the club will own the stadium, so don't assume they will. with the history of shitsu's ownership of the club don't you think its safer to assume that they wont?
Joy Seppala says they intend to sell
So the question is can they clear 100 million.
If the answer is no then it is highly unlikely they will build a new stadium

When did she say they intend to sell?
She said that they won't sell at the bottom of the cycle. This means they will sell when there is value in the club.....hopefully. It could also mean that they will sell when they have made money by any means.

Is this select memory, amnesia or even worse?
When Timothy was questioned on who would own the new ground he replied he didn't know. If the ground would have been owned by the club he would have said so. This leads me to believe that the Ricoh would be the same.
It wouldn't surprise me if Fisher was not included in negotiations as he is a liability to negotiate a deal.
However I suppose I am jumping ahead as their no deal is in place to buy the stadium, maybe this conversation would be better had should CCFC/SISU buy the Ricoh..
You only believe that the club won't based on a assumption about the owners, what if your assumption is wrong?

Les Reid Interview said:Asked to be clear with fans and Coventrians if there were any hope of a Ricoh return, Ms Seppala said: “The club needs 100 per cent ownership of the freehold of the Ricoh. If you look back at the history of the club, you can see why this is important.”
if my assumption is wrong then there is no problem is there! however if your assumption is wrong?
tell me if you found an unidentified brown substance on a plate and 1 person told you it was chocolate and another told you it was shit, would you assume its chocolate and eat it or would you play safe and not eat it?
Godiva, that's a good quote but no doubt people will not believe it.
I'll believe it when i see it happen you only have to look at Ryton to see what more than likely will happen !!!
Where does the thinking that the Arena runs at a loss come from, because the council bought the mortgage from the yorkshire? Ok ACL go bust, who then owns the stadium? It stops the yorkshire or another screw up like the SISU farce happening!
I dont have access to the accounts but...
According to the guardian 2011 http://www.theguardian.com/football/2011/sep/29/coventry-city-sisu-ricoh-arena
The Ricoh Arena is a hugely profitable enterprise for the council and Football Investors. In 2010, after paying loan interest, the stadium operator, Arena Coventry, made £1.5m even after investing millions in facilities. The previous year, when significantly less was spent on new assets, profits after debt and tax payments were £4m.
2008-2010 5.5m profit
The evening telegraph march 2013 Ricoh owners double profits. http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventry-news/ricoh-arena-owners-double-profits-3013220
2010-2012 again following on from the guardian, more profit being made.
Apart from the clubs rent, what has significantly changed?
top post, thanks mds; almost seems to have gone unnoticed, selective viewing and all that...
Why does being quiet make you think they are more guilty? I find that a strange thing to say. JS & TF have stated they have moved on from the Ricoh. If they want to come back, then isn't it up to them to re-instigate a discussion?
So, no need for them to contact ACL/CCC or vice verca.
If my assumption is wrong then I will hold my hands up and say I am wrong..

SISU
I appreciate I do lean more towards ACL

Where did the OP say that ?
At least you and Walker are honest -- you want ACL to prosper and are no longer interested in the football club
