How's about some ratings folks (2 Viewers)

Jones - 7 not much to do but collected crosses well, might be armen improvement
Willis - 7 solid, was not out paced, but would llike to see him come forward more
Webster - 7 see above
Martin -7 see above
Reda - 6 ok but a number of clearances that went out of play, some good work down left
Flinch - 6 didn't notice him much TBH
Flock - 7 had a great 15 min spell in 2nd half where he ggrabbed the game by stuff, but faded
JOB - 6 One or two runs but mainly not mucmuch to talk about, ran out of steam in last 15
noble - 5 if this he last chance saloon, he had better wake up
Maddine - 6 at times he seems like he can't be armed others he gets involved, needs to wear correct footware, missed 2 chances in 2 mins that should have give us 3 points
Jackson - 6 some good runs but no end product

Tungay 5 could not be arused, no pace, waste of a sub.


Overall, came to not lose, succeeded, but we should be winning these games.

I went and this is my view.

Jones - 9 superb. Caught the ball in the air 4 times which I haven't seen for a few years from a Cov keeper. Even Murphy punched the ball.

Willis - 7 done ok but not his best position he is a cb so be fair on him.

Webster 7- one of his better games but yeovil were bloody awful (luckily) done well though. Credit where it's due.

Martin 8- against his old club and showed them what a good defender he is. Very good game.

Johnson 8- gave everything and showed why he is so important to us. Needs to play more.

Fleck - 8 really good today and great touch, looked fitter, great strike at goal just over. Very impressed.

Finch -7 still very raw had a good game but more due to fleck doing well. Be fair he is young but doesn't make a difference to making us a better team.

O'brien - 7 didn't all come off today but he was committed and effort 100%. Ok.

Nouble- 7- frustrates the life out of me. It's clear he is a good player and clear to see why west game Chelsea had him at one time but doesn't always happen but tbf out of position again he needs to be up top not on the fregin wing.

Jackson - 8 really good game. Best I've seen from him. Gave everything and deserved a goal. Taken off because he ran on empty. Committed. Pacey. Got pulled back when he was through. Lucky not to be a red for their defender.

Madine - 2. Rant time. For me was the difference between us drawing and winning the game. Done nothing all game. Looked completely disinterested and did nothing but give the ball away. The penalty was a slip and poorly taken by a poor player. No surprise he missed as I correctly predicted it to my other half. Please be his last game. Offers nothing and I have always thought he was over rated. Clubs won't touch him with a barge pole trust me. Worse Cov display for a while. Just maybe thought last game so I am not arsed. Really in my bad books I'm Afraid. Go back to Sheffield Wednesday please.

Tudgay - 4- did nothing when he came on. Pointless. Only came on due to Jackson running himself into the ground.

Really big miss today not winning and I think we will go down fwiw. We just don't even look like scoring. Bar the penalty I wouldn't say we had that good chances. Yeovil had bar far the better chances and actually missed some sitters and jones in goal for us was brilliant. I see no goals in our team so we can't win games hence we will be going down. Just my opinion.

I agree with most, but you've got to be kidding me about Jackson. Was dreadful. Madine was a waste of space too. Fleck kept holding on too long and clearly had no idea what a killer ball is.

Mom easily Jones in goal. Very commanding. But it says it all our gk is mom against bottom and a very poor team.

No I agree as I apologized to stupot07 also. He was good though and made a worldie save and he looked very calm and confident.

In my defence I have had to watch alsopp all season and he would of conceded today but then again alsopp was really crap.

same as, wasn't critising the ratings, just highlighting how sad it was we were happy to have a keeper than caught a ball

Oh I don't take offense or anything. You have a right to your opinion and when I looked back you probably were right but I seen a lot better today and jones really impressed me. Madine was bloody awful. The difference really.

Defence improved from last week. Fleck looked a lot better (probably because he didn't have to carry Thomas), Jackson worked hard to no avail and I wanted to see more from Nouble and Madine.

Nouble is a funny one, looks like the only creative spark we have at certain points and then goes missing. Can't help but feel he'd be better through the middle up front than as a winger.

I suppose you could argue my marks haven't taken into account we were against bottom of the league though.

Cant understand the apparent euphoria concerning Jamie Jones. Whilst he gave a competent display Yeovil only had one shot on target.
A poor game played by two poor sides and neither side could have come out deserved winners.
A reasonable defensive display by City where Willis once again was immense.
Reda Johnson is not a left back and will be found out by more pacey wingers. Similarly Nouble is not a winger and for a player of his stature needs to add some physicality into his game.
We never looked like scoring and Madine looked disinterested possibly looking to avoid injury prior to his departure.

Now to be fair, I've thought for some time that a Flock and Flinch midfield combination could be the answer

I have to agree. Sure, it is possible to give a great display and be incredibly unlucky to be held to a 0-0 draw. I wasn't there, but gather from reports and match stats that it wasn't one of those. I'd expect maybe 1 or 2 8's for stunning individual performances tops, the rest 5's and 6's. But hey, I wasn't there, maybe Pressley was right in the post-match interview-we were "outstanding"!

The difference being we've seen on numerous occasions this season a gk not commanding area and flapping at crosses which cost us goals. Jamie Jones made some top catches under pressure, and came off his line well on a couple of occasions too. Allsop could easily have lost us that game.

I also thought Jones was what we have been looking for this season,A keeper that can catch,punch and kick straight.

Spot on. That's my point about the goalkeeper we have been so use to a shit keeper this season that when a decent one comes along we immediately praise a few catches. Sad really.

He's my take of the day.

It all kicked off with my daughter going to drama. She had to stand in the wings for long periods, with her mostly being ignored and out of position.

I then collected her after the first half and I passed a sandwich to her, which she promptly passed straight back. I then passed her some mini samosas, but she just kept passing them back as well, until in the end we just ended up passing back and forth and it was just little triangles.

We were going to go back home, but though the car always has a good engine, it lacked the strength to get away from its markers and make space for itself in the crowded middle of the car park, so we then went to Costa as she wanted a frothy coffee, but they had run out of steam. I then wanted to go to the pub and take her with me, but she was very wary of my taking shots, so the day just fizzled out into nothingness.

We did manage to get away in time though from the car park, so therefore we missed a penalty.



For those who went yesterday, does that sound familiar? :thinking about:

I thought Jones was pretty good. He seemed calm and confident, which must help the back line. Apart from that, the only one who was even slightly impressive was Willis. Nouble is wasted on the wing, and surely it makes sense to have him playing closer to Madine who was isolated for much of the time and achieved very little. Fleck had a few good moments, but the team is not going to gain many points by playing all their football in the middle of the pitch. We need someone to get forward quickly to support the striker(s).

Jones - 8 - Thought he commanded his area well, and caught difficult crosses. Didn't have much to do.
Willis - 7 - Was solid at RB IMO. Regularly left with 3 players attacking him, but stood his ground well and made some good tackles.
Webster - 6 - Did okay, no huge mistakes, only a few misplaced headers/passes.
Martin - 7 - Pretty solid.
Johnson - 8 - Impressed at LB, got forward well, linked with Nouble, and won the pen IIRC?
Finch - 5 - Personally don't think he's good enough, but doing the best he can. Far too young to be in the team.
Fleck - 7 - Poor first half. Had a good spell 10 mins after the penalty until about 85 mins. Needs to have more confidence, should have shot a few mins before the one that went over the bar.
O'Brien - 7 - Purely on effort. Didn't do much, but never gave up, so that's why a 7 IMO.
Nouble - 6 - Did okay on the left, would prefer him up top along side Madine/Tudgay.
Jackson - 4 - Lazy, threw his hands up after every challenge, and didn't offer anything in particular. Fail to this pace that many go on about?
Madine - 5 - Disappointing, didn't do much. Battled more after missing pen tho. Should have put ball to the right, as keeper was already going down to the left, and was too casual taking it.

Tudgay - 7 -Going against the grain here, battled hard, chased down, put the effort in. Didn't offer much, but did make an impact (sort of).

I think we are crying out for a skillful winger. Can't keep playing strikers on the wing, Nouble needs to be fed to score, not do the wing play. Would have liked Haynes come on for Jackson and put Nouble up top with Madine.

Just got back from my weekend down in Somerset and thought I'd check what id missed on SBT. In no way criticising anyone for their marks as everyone has their opinions of course but so surprised to see 8's!!
here's how I saw it (many may disagree)
Jones - 7 didn't really have much to do, made a good save but major positive were his safe hands on a few awkward crosses
willis - 7 best of the back 4 for me. Pace & strength not much got passed him. Agree he should be plsying cb as he offers little going forward but that's Pressley's mistake & given circumstance player very well
webster 6.5 - not a fan of Webster at all but a better game for him. Didn't hoof the ball out of touch/to no one so was an above average performance
martin 6.5 - similar to webster
johnson 6 - at times was caught out of position, got forward well at times. Would like to see him & Willis as cb pairing (again Pressley mistake so can't fault player)
O'brien 6 - usually frustrating performance. Works really hard but lacks quality or incisiveness in final third
finch 5 - what does he do??? How is he in the team above Barton is beyond me. Barton has (in my opinion) a lot of unfair criticism at ccfc. Has his faults but is one of a few players in our team composed on the ball and offers himself as an outlet at all times when players are in danger. Feel as if he would leave and do well elsewhere with the right midfield partner. Anyone finch, no idea what he did other than run about. He's young and I'm not slating him, just no idea how he's in our 11.
fleck 7 - did nothing first half. Was quality for a twenty minute spell in the second half. If only we saw that side of him more often
nouvle 6.5 - frustrating!!! Often looks our only creative player but decision making is poor. Always an unnecessary step over or hesitation before delivering (a usually substandard) cross
jackson 6.5 - often looked our most dangerous outlet running in behind. Worked hard but lacked that quality when required. Again feel he would do well elsewhere in a different sustem
madine 4- not for his penalty miss. Just doesn't offer a great deal. Continually comes out wide offering little and Is never in the box making a nuisance of himself, surely why he's in the team?

tudgay 6.5 - thought he worked hard for short spell he was on. Came on and we had our best spell

pressley 3 - both teams were terrible in all honesty and although our team is average at best it's better than he makes it look. Must have been confused when Yeovil made a proactive sub at about 55. Mins. "Someone trying to actually make a tactical sub?" Plenty of team decisions I disagree with and have been a huge supporter of his until recently. Similar to finch, not sure what he does or what his plan is anymore

and to the bell end saying "why are you clapping them? They were rubbish!" - they're our football team, it's what being a 'supporter' is all about. As a coventry fan what did you expect travelling three hours to Yeovil?! We're hardly barcelona!!! Don't bother paying next time.

Also credit to Martin for coming over and spending time with a few kids having photos & giving signatures

IMO fleck and barton just don't work as a partnership, they are both similar players and have similar weaknesses off the ball, and want to operating in the same areas. They are both players that wait for the opposition to come to them. Fleck and barton is a soft centre, great on the ball (well in the centre circle) and powder puff defensively. For me you can only afford to play 1 of them in the centre midfield.

However, I'm not sure why finch was playing given thomas has done ok since his return unless he is still injured (then why on the bench?), he can't be blamed for the defeat last week as we were 1-0 up when Pressley took him off. Fleck also seems to play better with him.

Would probably agree with that Stupot. Their combination off the ball certainly leaves a lot to be admired but i think he gets a raw deal in comparison to his ability and i'm not really sure Finch (at this time in his career) is any better at disrupting play and adding a meaty challenge. It's another example of just how unbalanced our squad is.
