Didn't realise you'd succumbed too, Shmmeee. Hope you get better soonOur window cleaner by us is still working, well that’s what they posted on FB.
I’m not doing great TBH. Isolation starting to play to my anxiety, eating crap and had all my energy sapped as I’ve been ill since it started but not I’ll enough not to work from home.
Webt for my first sanctioned walk yesterday, only half an hour in the woods but came back and slept for three hours I was so knackered. Felt better for getting outside though. Hoping this cough is finally on the way out after improvement yesterday, then I’ll start exercising daily and I think that’ll help a lot. No energy means no cleaning either which is never good for the soul.
Nope - but i'm not 89!Am I the only one who still cleans my own windows???

Yes. Get a window cleaner.Am I the only one who still cleans my own windows???
I know I've been thinking why aren't I working ? I feel okay and should be fine. Reckon I'm going for it end of the week.
All my customers want me there as I use the old fashioned way which is a squeegee and scrim. Those who have had a cleaner who uses the power hose, quickly got rid of him as they said he left the windows soaked etc, Got his money and left. But you're right a fair few older ones like a bit of a chat and a cuppa, and I've had some who have even marked on their calendars when I'm coming round again saying I'm the only person they speak to.You should. I suspect you are a friendly guy and have a lot of elderly people who’d probably like to see you even if it’s through a window or 6 feet apart on the door step
The guy we have is one of those vans and power hose things
We used to have this bloke who came round with a mop and bucket who was a miserable twat. Someone chucked an egg at our window and he cane didn’t clean it hardly and still wanted paying. I had an argument got a hot water and soap mix abs did it in front of him. His response? I don’t use hot water you are taking the piss.
Hilarious
Did you find yourself going down hill upon arrival in France?Funny you mentioning the toothache thing. I've had a couple of days when my chest was a bit tight, but all the teeth in my bottom jaw ached really badly for about a day. But that has been it - i wonder if that's what they mean by mild symptoms. Not heard of the teeth one before.
Will definitely be putting myself forward for antibody testing when it gets rolled out - i'd be fascinated to see if i had it.
But the second half of Feb, i had a horrible chesty cough (but with added phlegm, which they say isn't a Covid thing) - got some antibiotics from the quack, then buggered off to France on a skiing holiday.
I wonder ...!
I mostly rely on the rain to clean my windows.Am I the only one who still cleans my own windows???
Funny, but I've been wondering that. I genuinely, in winter, love sat inside in the warm, as it hammers down outside - it makes me feel lucky to be where I am.Weather has greatly helped, trying not to think about what it would be like if the weather had been shocking and stuck indoors completely.
Need to get into a routine fella, might feel like a grind but will focus your mind in doing stuffReally starting to struggle with the isolation now, completely bored but have no interest in doing anything.
Write down a list of things you want to achieve in a time frame (let's say a week). It may be that you want to walk every day, vacuum the house, clean the garage, paint the ceiling, learn a subject from YouTube, read a book. Literally anything.Really starting to struggle with the isolation now, completely bored but have no interest in doing anything.

The hardest part of starting a task is the first 5-10 mins. Pick one that you want to do and say to yourself 'I'm going to do this for 10 mins and then I'm going to stop'. More times than not you will likely carry on until you have completed the task or at least made substantial progress.
Give it a go, see if it works for you!

In the new street I'm currently staying in the city centre in the past week there's been workers digging up the road laying cables etc, and yesterday and today a gardener has been working on a couple of front gardens. None wearing masks and many chatting close to each other. Must be essential work then?I'm back in the game....I had a tough few days a week or so back & was in a very dark place for the reasons listed in my post on the "Really struggling today" thread at the time....
....I think exhaustion also played a significant part in my downward spiral, but I'm back up to speed now having really embraced the quality time with kids & wife that the slowdown in my business has afforded me.
I'm working today & tomorrow, then looking forward to a nice 4 day weekend over the Easter! Bike rides, BBQs & garden kick-a-bouts galore...
I also reckon you should get back up the ladders BBR.....spread some joy & earn some cash.
Best wished to All of you wonderful SBT'ers.

So sod it I'm going out and do some cleaning and see how it goes. To be honest seeing people grafting has made me feel a bit guilty just sitting about doing nothing much, that's unlike me. My son and sister just say just be sensible, what does that mean !
My sister has a regular gardener and he was there a week ago. She still made him his usual coffees but put his cash in an envelope instead of handing it to him. She said he works on his own and just does his couple of hours and he's off. I'll give it a go and see how it goes. I'm looking forward to it to be honest, hope my customers feel the same !I don't think you have any issue justifying working BBR.
Your work, by definition, cannot be done at home.
You are effectively a lone worker.
You are working outside.
You could even argue that the service you provide has great social benefit, especially to those elderly & isolated.
Just be mindful of the 2m rule when accepting your cash or a brew off your customers & you're golden.
Go for it.
Do you usually keep it in a box with very few airholes then, Daz?Had a wobble this morning , my wife came in and started crying her wards like a nightmare . She’s sensitive at the best of times that got me abit too be honest , quick coffee and I’m taking the dog out get some air
Are they shut tomorrow?Been trying to get some shopping for my 87 year old father-in-law tonight. All the shops have people queuing round the block. Gonna try Tesco later at about 9.30.
What is going on?
Normal (well, as normal as it gets nowadays!) hours, as far as I'm aware. Anyway, surely just about everybody's learned to plan a week in advance by now?Are they shut tomorrow?

Know the feeling. Have a good mate who has the big C. His time is very limited. Saw him last just before lockdown. Know I won't see him again. But neither can his children or grandkids. His wife can't go anywhere. No visitors allowed at all except for the care he receives in his last days. A very lonely end for him. And I feel bad about not being able to help. Fantastic bloke who doesn't deserve a thing of it.Thankyou ..It really is for his daughter and his Mrs...an unfolding nightmare as they deal with the virus themselves now....... been reading his posts on Facebook..... like us all... he shared the comedy virus stuff to keep us smiling... and like most of us thought... it won’t touch our own family. Although he’s a red he bought the 2 tone top and loved it!!!! Survived Hillsboro to get fecked over by a virus... pfffffffffff
Cant think of anything more upsetting and terrifying as knowing you are at the end of your life and your family aren’t around you....desperate times for him and his family....Know the feeling.
