Hey Guys, hope you are all well! #pusb

What about our wage bill then I was wondering, we have offloaded some top earners no doubt, Keogh, Cranie etc etc. We have however drafted in 7 players? so far plus a German and Brazilian on the way to make up 9 if a success... With the drop in a league the wage structure must be re-evaluated leaving us with less of a tiny budget we would have had...

So, are we in danger of paying to many wages in the league we are in? Do the players departed wages covers our new recruits wages in total? Are we being smart in this area?

You have to assume that the total wages for the new signings is significantly less than the total wages for those departed, so IMO the wage budget should be lower than last season otherwise sisu wouldn't be sanctioning the signings!

the french guys wont be on much, nor will elliott coming from scotland..

Kilbane will be on a penny or two, as will Fleck.

for the 2 youngsters we will only be paying some of their wages

I would suggest that Eastwood and Clingans wages alone (approx 15k) would cover the signings so far.

SISU will say we're losing £500,000 a month, regardless of wages.

Thats exactly what I wanted to hear, makes you worry when you read stories such as the Pompey one, so poorly run (I know we would never pay that much but you know where Im coming from)

We have lost more than gained still and in most cases I would guess lost 6k a week gained 2k a week.

So possiblly a good busines case to show the council

If you assume that Wood is reported to be the highest remaining wage at £6k that says that even Fleck and Kilbane are on less. This seems reasonable for top League 1 club.

Again it seems SISU are doing well in terms of wages atm - they get to cut the wage bill and we're getting a new squad! What startles me thinking about last season is players like Eastwood, Clingan and Wood probably highest earners yet 2 didn't play and I wish Clingan hadn't bothered either. Huge wastes of time and money.

Exactly, Craine, Clingan and Eastwood alone would be around £20k per week. If they offload Wood as well......

Thats not forgetting the cash coming in from the sales. Agree with the earlier comment about Kilbane and Fleck probably picking up the most out of the summer signings, the rest should all be on sensible salaries. People sometimes forget theres a large proportion of players that are left unsigned once their contracts end these days, especially as squad sizes appear to have reduced in recent years. Lower league players are probably a lot more realistic than they used to be.

Fleck had said before he came to us that playing every week at a club with ambitions was more important than money at this stage of his career.

I'm glad he ignored our previous seasons.....

opposite to McPake then

"Not playing every week at a club with no ambition" was why he signed for us

The players coming in will definitely be on lower wages than the players going out.
Doesn't mean they can't potentially be better players though
