More chance for premier league youngsters to get actual game time without going on loan to bollocks like us.

To help the english game it should be mandatory that every club must start a match with 4-6 british players in the starting 11 , which would mean every club would need 8-10 british players in their squad

Can you imagine if it's like Spain. Man City B team storming the championship and denied promotion . Barca situation.
Lots of clubs going shitshape if it happens .

this is crazy !

In short, majority of League One as we know it will be Premier League B teams, once they have been promoted from the new League Three.

also,

non non eu players lower than Prem !

What happens if a team has 3 and gets relegated from prem, they need to get rid ?

And imagine the budgets of those B teams too. Creating the Premier League was bad enough.

this is crazy !

No non-Eu players outside the Premier League !

"One proposal is for these second teams to play in a league sandwiched between League Two and the Conference.

Another option is to merge the B teams with League Two and the Conference to form two regional leagues."

Anything higher than that, or if teams are allowed promotions I'll be against it totally. And I'm not totally for it now.

by what im reading , these B teams can get promoted to league 2 and 1 , so in theory this will just kill off all lower tier clubs chances of promotion to higher leagues as all the prems b teams will be hard to beat

This is a joke. They basically want the whole FL to be a feeder system for Prem clubs.

Just sort out the loan system. Instead of letting the big clubs sign up every player they can sign limit the number of kids they can have, encourage them to loan them out (without charging a fee) to get game time or create a separate league for them.

There are no many better options your average fan can come up with off the top of your head it has to make you wonder what they are thinking.

Agree totally. Why don't they just resurrect the old Central League?

you could finish 10th in League One and promoted to Championship, as the 9 above you are all B teams !

most of the teams in league 1 and 2 can wave goodbye to their teams ever seeing championship football or premiership football , its a disgusting idea , that could only have been thought up by somebody wearing a suit in an office that has no clue about the current state of english football

That is the sad part of it. The Premier League teams are a totally separate entity to the Football League. If they want a B league then let them have one, but don't involve us. I notice recently that there is an U21 League, they just need to rebrand it and change the rules.

They have a problem with non-English players coming through because the Sky money and PL "brand" means that all teams need to play a team of imports. Most players' surnames in Premier League teams would win you a game of Scrabble. Obviously, I don't support a PL team but if I did I wouldn't be happy with the way the whole thing is structured.

The obvious solution would be to distribute the Premier League riches more evenly through all the league teams (Premier and Football League). This would create a more competitive environment in which Championship teams can afford to buy, pay and play footballers who would currently rather collect their large paycheques sitting on the bench at the big clubs. Instead, they want to solidify the draining of talent into the top teams, thereby reducing the chances of those top teams losing their positions of dominance in future.

WTF`s up with a reserves league?

I think that got scrapped as clubs were moaning there was too many games they had to field a side for and the cost of running two sides wasn't sustainable!

Saw some cracking reserve games at HR, you used to get random top players pop up as they were on their way back from injury. Remember a bumper crowd one time we played Liverpool and they had a few top names coming back at the same time.

This could backfire badly, lower level clubs are struggling enough as it is, how many more will this kill off. You have to wonder how much more you can remove the game from the supporters before they give up and walk away.

Yeah, I remember some great Central League games. If they just restricted the League to PL teams then there shouldn't be a problem with running two teams. They are awash with cash as it is.

I really don't see how it is going to do any good. Essentially it would ruin the loan system, and with this "B system" you could potentially ruin some real football clubs with heritage and history.

Why don't the premiership teams feed money in to some lower league clubs for them to develop their young players? Like the current loan system but they could have a specific contract with a specific team? It is essentially the same without having to have a "Manchester United B" rammed in your face.

P.S. Just to clarify though - that doesn't mean that I think we should have B teams just without the names - nobody should be forced to play Man U's U19 team as their first team - what I mean is I don't see why PL clubs cant form a good relationship with a League 1 or 2 side so that both teams benefit.

FA chairman Greg Dyke today called for the introduction of B and unofficial ''feeder'' teams, an overhaul of the work permit system and enforced increases in home-grown player quotes as part of his blueprint for the future of the English game.
Seven months after his landmark speech in which he announced the establishment of his Commission, Dyke published the 81-page document drafted with the help of a team including former England bosses Glenn Hoddle and Howard Wilkinson.
Among the proposals, as expected, was the controversial introduction of Premier League B-teams in a new 20-team League Three completed by 10 Conference sides.
That idea has already been criticised but Dyke and his team – who point to the success of Germany and Spain as example for English football to follow – envisage the new league beginning in 2016-17.
Dyke and his Commission believe the new league would help bridge the gap between youth football – especially players between 18 and 21 – and first team level.
The B-teams would not be allowed to gain promotion beyond League One and not enter the FA Cup or League Cup.
In another controversial move, the Commission also calls for the ''development of Strategic Loan Partnerships'' between clubs.
That effectively means feeder teams although not in the sense of the lower division clubs being wholly owned by the top flight outfits, building on informal agreements such as the current relationship between Spurs and Swindon, with up to eight players allowed out on loan to a single lower division team.
Dyke's body believes that the Home Grown player regulations should be extended from the current demand for eight in a first-team squad of 25 to 13 by 2020-21.
The first step would be made in 2016-17, with an extra home-grown player then required every season to end up with the majority of players filling the criteria.
As the Home Grown Player idea has already been incorporated into UEFA and Premier League regulations, there would be no legal challenge under EU Law.
And while the idea of a winter break, long mooted by a series of England managers, is not even mentioned, Dyke also demands a toughening up of the current regulations on work permits for non-EU players.
Under current rules, any player who has played the majority of competitive national team games for a side in the top 70 of FIFA's world rankings automatically qualifies.
Those who do not can appeal on the grounds of ''exceptional'' talent but Dyke's report notes that 79 per cent of such appeals are currently successful.
New rules would prevent any sides outside the Premier League securing the services of these non-EU players, while top flight clubs would not be allowed to send any of their non-EU players out on loan and clubs restricted to a maximum of two non-EU players in theior 25-man squads.
Introducing his findings, Dyke said: ''The decline in players coming through is a significantly bigger problem in England than anywhere else.
''If the trend continues, we fear for the future of the England team.
''We want to continue having the best foreign players playing in England and to strengthen the quality of the Premier League but also give more English boys the best chance of achieving theior potential.
''This is in the best interests of the national team and English players and also the professional clubs who are spending millions on youth development programmes.''

Isn't that what we had before the PL started?

Yep! But in that era there wasn't the same structure of support in place to nurture young talent.

If you distributed money more evenly now, more small teams could also invest in creating Category 1 and 2 Academies that could nurture their own talent to the same standards as the top teams.

Another example of the big clubs looking after themselves while starving the grass roots.

Some more of my passion for football has broken away and tumbled into the sea.
