I agree, but I think we do because we often don't turn up against them. I am a bit deflated with the squad issues, we could probably do with rotating 1 or 2 given how soon the game is but there's not much to rotate with right now. They're 21st in the last 6 form table, ( we've dropped to 15th), and 23rd in the away form table, we're 2nd in the home one.
We have nothing to fear.
What I don't get is that the same people who worry about playing relegation teams fighting for their lives get angry when we don't beat relegation teams fighting for their livesA slight over reaction on here, prob the best wev‘e played away all season so I can’t see how the players weren’t up for it or resigned to our fate, just didn’t take our chances, you’d think we‘d of lost and mid table, massive game Friday weve got some of the most negative fans for a team that’s 3 points clear in the play offs
Yeah, Lati did well, but he didn't have much to contend with did he. Very little threat from the Hull front line.I do hope so although I thought Lati was fine defensively, albeit against a poor team.
We did miss the goal threat from corners that Thomas gives us.
The ref had a perfect viewThe Hull goal was so marginal its stupid to blame the officials, tough call. Were by far better than the set we had in the two games prior. Although we did have a valid penalty shout (RE: Sheaf) but I dont think the ref or Lino had a good view of it
I don't feel overly confident about the away games we have left.Or at least deny them 3pts
Apart from Grimes' attempted assist.Yeah, Lati did well, but he didn't have much to contend with did he. Very little threat from the Hull front line.
The 1 moment in the second half comes to mind with a big high ball (iirc from a spooned JDS clearance?) that he let bounce in front of him on the edge of the box. Was eventually dealt with but was a needless heart in mouth moment that Thomas would've just headed clear with ease.I agree, Lati was fine. Don't think he was tested much though, we controlled most of the game.
We did play very well.
Not wanting to pee on anyone's chips or anything, but Hull were very, very poor.
I am hoping it's because we made them look poor, rather than anything
else. On the surface it did look like we played really well.
Collins barely had anything to do all night.
Tougher test on Friday for sure.

However, I'm over the disappointment of last night's equaliser and think we still get something.
But he gets no help from the people in front of him.Dasilva has been good recently, especially tonight. But that goal illustrates his weakness as a defender, players get in behind him and then he doesn't close them down enough. Illustrated by the amount of goals we have conceded with him and a lot more we have been lucky to get away with.
We will always be weak defensively if he plays because tactically he is weak defensively.
All the teams below will be looking at their results and thinking exactly the same. In the top 6 with 4 to go is a miraculous effort since Lampard came in and we could all but rule West Brom out if we win that one. They must have been a good 15 points ahead of us when they beat us at home earlier in the season (rough guess, not sure how you look at league tables from specific dates.)Struggled past Oxford twice, Derby took 6 points off us, Pompey pumped us and we barely did enough to beat them last week. These performances are what convince me it won’t be this season. And the Derby results in particular are laughable.
Would love us to have a go at the P/O’s but it won’t be us who wins it.
Far too rational a view for our forum..It always feels like a loss when you concede a late goal, but we are still in the playoffs by 3 points, with 4 games to go. We won't need a full return of wins to get there, but we really could do without losing to either West Brom or Middlesbrough.
I have a feeling this is going to make us all very stressed out, but I would happily take it if we can just win the next two games and be within touching distance a week from today.
There's so many mental results in this league, whilst we're occupied thinking about us blowing it, there are many other teams around us which are just as likely to fuck it up. Getting only a point today is frustrating, but it isn't the end of the world at all. We're just going to have to roll our sleeves up.

I'd want West Broms fixtures! We’ve made a few teams look poor this season because of the way played.
If the roles were reversed, would you want to be in WBA’s position going into Friday? Same with Boro (as things stand).
Wouldn't want their form though.I'd want West Broms fixtures!

No. We don't have a great record against WBA though and that worries me a littleWe’ve made a few teams look poor this season because of the way played.

It was a similar game, you're right. Even the late equaliser and then MVE's chance after that was from almost the same position as one Hamer had after Wigan scored.Last night reminded me so much of Wigan away in 2023 so I had a look at the match thread and it was so much like this one!
One comment that kept coming up is how little depth we had and how the squad was dead on its feet but we still got to the play offs and I think we're in a better position overall than we were then, (though clearly Vik and Hamer did a lot of heavy lifting).
Yeah, our record against Albions not great but it's not Preston or Swansea levels of shitness and we put them to bed this season.
I still think we've got a great chance of top 6.
Yeah. You’re right, I wouldn’t be feeling bullish if it was away, but these are the kinds of games we need to win (or at least not lose) to finish in the playoffs.
Patterson, Allen and Basette should have come on, at 70 mins.I agree, but I think we do because we often don't turn up against them. I am a bit deflated with the squad issues, we could probably do with rotating 1 or 2 given how soon the game is but there's not much to rotate with right now.

I do think, with their fixtures, we have to look to win the game and not "just don't lose"I doubt they're looking forward to playing us and if we beat them they're pretty much done

Despite their results recently, they have been creating a lot of chances.
Fans been questioning Mowbrays team selection.
Started with Fellows and Johnstone last week - what many seem to think best - and they won.
Both of those, Particularly Fellows down our left will cause us a lot of problems.

It's a bit of a quandary about Middlesbrough's game on Friday. They play Plymouth and I am not sure what to wish for
I was hoping that Plymouth would have been all but down by the time we played them, but we could do without a Middlesbrough win, really.
A draw be the best outcome maybe? I think that would probably be best, because that ensures Boro stay behind us and Plymouth may just be cut adrift slightly again if the likes of Derby and Hull win. Plymouth could be 5 points behind with just 3 games to go.
If Plymouth won at Middlesbrough, I think they would then really fancy their chances against us on the Monday.
What does everyone reckon?

I know your in-laws like to gaslight you a bit. In fact i know what fans of other Midlands clubs are like when talking about Cov in general, but these are the stats i found from their home win against a very mediocre Watford side, which was also their first win in 6.
I don't really like playing West Brom based on historical results and the injury situation isn't great, but lets not fluff them up to be something they aren't. Bet the fans who wanted Corberan gone feel stupid right now thats for sure.
