I believe Robins and the majority of our fan base see Hyam as the better player. The stats shown above do indicate that Rose is better in possession. Both players have been moved into different slots in the back three throughout the season.

Who would you rather see in our back three next season?

I think Hyam is the better CB as you can manipulate the stats however you want but on gameday Hyam delivers as seen by Robins choosing to play him

It's weird.

We accept that we concede far too many. There have been too many examples of 'one chance, one goal!".

Yet 'Hyam is great', 'Fadz is our rock', 'we should sign JCS in a heartbeat' & 'the stats show Rose should start'.

If Robins accepts we need to sort the attack, then he must realise that the back 3 needs sorting or we don't progress.

And, yes, we defend as a team... but they are the core players.

Rose is far superior on the ball, Hyam is better defensively. I’d prefer Hyam but, as Grendel said, in an ideal situation we’d have neither in the starting XI.

Hyam better defensively , Rose slightly better on the ball .

Hyam has come on alot this season , had a poor year last year , not so much this year.

Hyam is better defensively, but Rose is far superior on the ball, his range of passing is the best of all our CBs by far. Apparently Rose is the quickest player at the club on all the speed tests, according to Godden and Waghorn. To me that says we really need to recruit some pace in attacking areas in the summer.

Ideally we'd upgrade both and have them as back up.

In an ideal world both would be backup. Hyam too slow, too easy to run at and too prone to silly positional mistakes or bad passes.

I think Rose is better and given the choice would take him over Hyam

Hyam improved no end once he moved to right hand side, Rose is okay at centre-half as is McFadz but we need better.

I think most would say Hyam but always preferred Rose personally. As said above I'd rather both were backup but in reality we need to replace JCS and probs get in a 'new Fadz' so replacing one of these on the right too simply isn't going to happen.

Rose made some horrendous passing errors in the latter part of the season .. at forest alone he must have made 4 in a row that were suicidal .

His stats must have been much better earlier in the season because the latter stages with the exception of 1 or 2 matches he was dire defensively.. he does chip in with corner goals though 🤔

Great post. Can’t disagree with any of that.

The only thing I’ll add is that if we can keep all our best players and replace the loanees like for like then we need to look at the goalkeeping.

Spend all the budget we can, even if a season long Prem loan who costs a lot on a top top gk.

Look at Hudds Goalie, Nichols?, he’s been brilliant for them. As a side the they are nothing special, not as good as us outfield IMO but having a top gk and they are top 3.

Moore is ok, but not top level. Wilson too erratic.

Go get us a top GK and I think we will get to the next level.

Nicholls was a free from MK Dons, so they are out there, finding them is the hard part…

Clearly Hyam but I have a feeling Rose has the potential to improve considerably. It depends how much he wants it.

I would be pleased to see us bring in a left footed centre back and one with a bit more pace than we have at the moment, keep two of the three we currently have.

Had a dreadful run of form, am I imagining it or was he another post covid?
