In light of current threats regarding potential legal action towards SBT.
I felt it prudent to clarify my own opinion on a few matters.......
I believe that an arena that cost 113 million to build could be worth 4-6 million.
I do not see an issue with that at all.
I think if the Ricoh Arena is not sold for around this value then the club owners should spend 20-30 million over 5 years building a second football arena in the Coventry Area.
I think it is very noble of the owners to cover the costs of the move to Northampton over the 5 years. Some have estimated this to be between 10-15 million.
I understand that because of a poor relationship between the football club owners and the council/Higgs-ACL. It would not be wise to take the financially viable option of free followed by dirt cheap rent to be in Coventry, whilst either building a new stadium or negotiating a different solution.
I understand that no one does business whilst their is bad blood even if it is financially better. I understand that the academy deal is not an example how it can be done and would be done if it suited the owners, despite the bad blood.
I understand that by building a new stadium and putting another 30-40 million debt on top of the current 30-40 million. The long term financial future of the club will be secure and this will lead to the best opportunity for the owners to secure a return on their investment.
I understand that in the fans forums when Mr fisher told the fans details about the new stadium were weeks away. Yet no one has heard a single detail.
This is a complicated business it takes time.
I understand why we have not bought any land yet. Why we have no planning permission.
I understand why we were told the club had moved on from the Ricoh to then be making attempts to buy it. Circumstances change.
I understand that it has taken the owners this long to realise that to get success on the pitch you have the adequately replace what you lose and invest in your youth. It has taken this long and a drop to the third tier but the owners are new in this industry. If we do get back in the championship then I hope they remember what they have learnt.
I understand that the owners were hood winked a bit when they bought the club and that the rent deal was not at the time something that needed renegotiating.
I understand how rent of 1.2 million a year has completely crippled the club has built up our 30-40 million pounds worth of debt over 6 years.
I understand as Mr fisher pointed out that the judicial review is completely for us the fans and SISU have nothing to financially gain from it.
However I do think for a hedge fund to do such an honourable thing is a step too far. It may make them seem a bit soft to the other people in the business. I think if they ask us fans we will say thanks, but save your money and spend it on a bid for the Ricoh.
I believe that if the sky blue trust a voluntary fans supporters group attach an article written by a reputable journalist from a national newspaper.
That if our owners decide to sue the journalist they should also sue the supporters group for letting the supporters know about the article.
