I think that if we get to the point where they feel the need to remove AT they'll do one first ,they have no means available to tempt another to take on this poisened challis unless they promote Carsley.

I did honestly think he would have gone in the 2 week interval we have just had.

I think AT has done a good job considering the circumstaces.

I don't know what you expect him to say?

"the boys are feeling very sorry with themselves, have lost all of their confidence and can't see where their next point is coming from"

"the boys were crap in training this week, they couldn't pass, couldn't score and didn't seem to even try"

No one expects us to get anything from tomorrow, I'd be happy with a good performance and will be overjoyed if we got a point or more out of the game.

I've given up expecting a point and just pray that as I'm in car park B that all those 'appy 'ammers have left my car in one piece when I return to it after the game.

He will be staying until the last Sisu representative turns out the lights. It is interesting they did not extend his contract, clearly not as much a saleable asset as Bell, Baker et al.

I think a new experienced guy will be in if he does not start producing points with what he's got. That's the simple name of the game I'm afraid. makes no difference about how well he has done etc it will always be a contention that an experienced manager may be able to do better.

Isn't it possible that what Thorn said is..erm..true? Or do some still think that he's part of the SISU conspiracy, acting as their puppet/yes-man with a mission statement to get us relegated?

Last season Thorn turned around a failing team and boosted their morale when they looked to be at the point of no return. Of course that was easier last time-he just had to not be that twat Boothroyd. But given his enthusiastic and positive approach, I have complete faith that Thorny has got them firing in training and as up for the challenges ahead as is possible.

OK obviously a fair few of you don't like him. But in this incidence, is it possible that your preconceptions are altering your ability to reason objectively? You've written him off, so even the most normal or innocuous statement is twisted into his latest faux-pas or just ignored. His comments are as much an attempt to raise fan morale, but Cynical Cov that we are, we just go "meh" and move on to discussing when he will be sacked!

I thought we were over the Thorn-bashing, but a fair few regulars on here have now started speaking as if there is a consensus that Thorn is a joke and a crap manager, or even "not too bright" just because he's a Cockney with a working-class background. You'll find that at least half of us are still behind him, and I'll be singing my support from the top of my voice tomorrow. All together now, "He's got no hair but we don't care..."

Too many ate looking for someone to blame. We have had a fair few over the years at fault. These days SISU are at fault. I will be behind AT until the day he is given the tools to do his job and the results are still crap.

Agreed who else could have done a better job with the resourse we have

He's doing the best he can with the tools provided, no-one in their right minds can blame him for our predicament. If he had still got Gunnar, King and Westwood and Turner at his disposal we would be at least mid table but SISU have fucked him over as bad as the rest of us.

I like Thorny and think he's done a very good job with what he's working with. Although I can see him being used as a scapegoat for the on going problems at the club by sacking him to take the heat off SISU momentarily.

What would be the point in sacking AT, hold on a minute I've just realised Mr Brody contends that ...

I suppose with that argument they are expecting AT to over perform from the point of view of finances & stay up.. I'd suggest that is a bit of a thin hope there!
On the other hand I'd argue that if AT performs in line with finances then we'll go down & no blame for weak management can be attached, he can be seen as an average manager on a learning curve who might well improve next year.

I don't think many are against him to be honest and understand the tight restraints he has and is doing the best he can with what he's got.
Personally I am suprised he's still manager just because of the very poor run were on (not all his fault) because as we know, the only person sackable and who takes the blame in the end is the manager.
The board can't sack themselves unfortunatly, the players cannot be sacked more's the pity as it is about time some stood up and took some of the blame but as always can get away with putting in mediocre performances week in week out and say there trying there best but pick up there fat pay cheques at the end of it.
Luckly for AT with the tight budget restraints we have at cov he still has the backing of the majority of fans otherwise he would be getting a lot of flak and is on a nothing to lose all to gain management experiance, if he succeeds great manager, if he fails he is not to blame as no-one expected him to succeed.
Not having a go at him just think he is in a lucky position right now at his first go in management
