In honesty I prefer the pre-season we've had because;
1) people will calm down abit and not think TM isthe second coming
2) If we had played 5 and won 5 then SISU wouildn't see the need to invest and our fickle supporters would thinkwe would win the World Cup
3) We can truly see where we are, a struggling Div 1 club. Our fans, including me, think we are Premier class in waiting but the table never lies and we are a pathetic comparison to our by-gone days
4) The only way is up ??? maybe not
I am an eternal optimist and truly think we will go up this season BUT only if we can invest in two 'worthy' strikers. People say we need a midfield to provide but they need someone to provide to. It's a team game and like a car when one thing isn't functioning correctly the others give up
We will be better when it all kicks off, hopefully with at least a couple more players in the bag, still think we will be signing players right up to the deadline whenever that is. Have a feeling Mowbray is keeping some budget back for that
Fleetwood have lost 5 out of 5 of their pre-season games people. Swindon lost to swindon supermarine and solihull moors. Port Vale drew with Getafe. Pre-season on the whole means fuck all. I'll reserve judgement until a few games into the season quite frankly. If we beat wigan 3-0 then I won't get carried away and if we lose 3-0 I won't get carried away.
The difference is, had we lost the games but showed signs of positivity I wouldn't be so worried. In the 4 games I went, nothing showed me that we have any chance of a mid-table finish.
The football we are playing is horrific and we are in need of 4/5 players. That's with 6 days before the season starts against one of the strongest teams!!
