I am not entertainedOpening scene from Gladiator.
Opening scene from Gladiator.
The sequel was clearly never going to match up to it but wasn’t bad either. My first thought when I opened this thread was actually the ending. Absolutely amazing film, and one of my favourites.

Felt the same about the Hobbit filmsI thought it was a good film, if it was on its own that is. Obviously nowhere near as good as the first one, and probably extremely unnecessary as well.
The sharks in the arena seemed a bit ridiculous, but apparently they did flood it in the past to stage battles of the sea.
Apparently there is a third one coming at some stage. Equally as unnecessary, but of course I'll still go and watch it.
Never watched it2001 : A Space Odyssey
The jump cut
The docking scene
I'm afraid I can't do that Dave
Daisy Daisy
The star child etc.
...and of course Leonard Rossiter
So many iconic scenes in an iconic movie.
The mad old bloke cracks me up every time. 'Up the IRA'
The reason this scene has always stuck with me is that on 2 different management training courses, they started with this opening of the film.Opening scene from Gladiator.
This was touring as a stage show recently, not sure how they got away with the noncing and racism if I'm honest
Missed out the best bit when he asks for 3 glasses.
Interesting you chose this, I might’ve chosen the opening scene…
To be honest mate I just thought of the scene and posted it . Great scene thoughMissed out the best bit when he asks for 3 glasses.
Great film, the guy who plays Hans Landa is just sensational considering he has lines in 4 languages over the movie. To be honest mate I just thought of the scene and posted it . Great scene though
The scene with him speaking Italian to Brad Pitt is also very good.Great film, the guy who plays Hans Landa is just sensational considering he has lines in 4 languages over the movie.
The restaurant scene where he eats strudel while interrogating the cinema owner is brilliant. Leaving enough in there to plausibly argue either way whether he knows who she really is.The scene with him speaking Italian to Brad Pitt is also very good.
