I would be urging them to seize the moment and release a statement along the lines of:
''Having noted the recent remarks of our manager Tony Mowbray regarding his frustrations around the playing budget, and in light of the recent positivity around the club and its supporters, the owners of CCFC have injected a further £50,000 into the playing budget as equity. We hope that this will enable TM to operate more freely in the transfer market, encourage supporters to get behind the team and perhaps begin the process of repairing our relationship with the club's supporters. PUSB''
This is a relatively tiny amount but would generate further season ticket sales, a better squad, a bigger turn out v Wigan and a whole bunch of good will. C'mon SISU, you know it makes sense!
