Watched their match tonight and they were very poor. Huge chance of going down.

How much money could we possibly lose if they do get relegated? I would imagine the clauses a for goals scored in the Premier League etc.

I imagine the lad himself wouldn't be too happy as well, but surely he considered this happening.

I'd laugh if next year he was sitting on the bench of a championship club whilst we were playing in the championship also.

And I'd laugh louder by knowing his career would be progressing further by playing first team championship football which he would have had with us.

Look at Bigi for example. If he was on the 19k reported, thats nearly a mill a year. was it a 4 or 5 year contract he had?

Why is everyone assuming that if Norwich go down we will be playing them next season?

We're not, would just be amusing if it did happen.

If Norwich go down and sack their manager, TM would be a prime candidate and could end up managing Maddison again.

If Ipswich don't go up,expect McMad to leave mutually & that is the job for TM

If he had gone to Liverpool or Spurs or arsenal then he'd be playing in the championship next season, so in that sense it doesn't make much difference.

Why do we think he is going to sit on the bench?

It's straw clutching a showing a lack of class, a bit like how certain fans went on Southampton's message board taking the piss when they turned down sisu's offer to takeover.

No it's because as a football manager at any level, you have to believe you can take that team forward, from whatever position it may be in. Otherwise what is the point,I'm sure he now realises the type of club he is at.
I will still be going to watch our club at whatever depths they sink us to,supporters don't really have a choice, employees definitely do. Ipswich Town is a massive possibility in the summer,TM is very highly regarded there, and would be given the
tools to have a real go at promotion.IMHO. Also TM.MV & JC all played there together,in one of there more
successful periods

You have a point there. Especially with the moronic side of our fan base wanting him sacked; who seem unable to look at the bigger picture and appreciate what he is doing.

Every football manager has to deal with players being sold. Especially in the lower leagues, the big test of his skills is what he does now.

Maddison wasn't a key player for us (he probably would have been) so Mowbray will be used to life without him.

It's not that he was sold,it's the manner in which he was sold,it smacks of desperation by a group of amateurs

The key point in what I said:it's the manner in which he was sold. Not all clubs grasp a last minute/first offer that comes
along.Jesus Sorry for feeling some passion, this is a football club you know, for half on here it's more like a committee
meeting down the Salvation Army.

1. We still have him for this season so not like we couldn't get a replacement in time.

2. TM has said time & again that player sales are not really his remit. That is what Mark Venus is for and TM trusts him. MV would certainly have been involved in this deal even if the ultimate decision came from above. You can't have it both ways and moan about players being sold when you brought in the guy in charge of such dealings.

3. Who says TM didn't sanction this anyway.

4. TM may be given every penny of the fee to spend in June enabling us to build a Championship standard squad if we are promoted or a promotion winning squad if not. Even a small portion of that goes a long way in this division.

I'm as disappointed as the next man (see my deadline night overreaction thread) but we will only know if this is a good or bad deal in a couple of years time.

1.we could do without him for the rest of the season,so no need to replace, some of the money could have been used
for much needed striker or winger or both.
2.This was a rushed deal,at what level do you really think MV was involved,do you think his opinion was sought
and/or considered.
3.Your point 2.renders point 3.void.
4.I can only go on their history at the helm, and if you believe that, well at best I think you're gullible,at worst deluded.

The thing is you see that Premiership contracts don't normally have wage reductions on demotion, the parachute payments are to sort of cover the transition to a lower salary regime, with cheaper players. Of course often clubs can't ship out the expensive flops & end up being plunged into deeper debt. While the players have upper hand in the negotiations then the post relegation financial mayhem will continue.

I'd expect quite a few clubs to have relegation clauses in contracts.

Norwich are really good at this, they don't push the boat out to far on wages, and keep a close handle on contracts.
Think they are one step away from being prem regulars like Stoke,Saints,West Ham.
Even relagation I don't think would set them back to far.
