I think he should stay. His performance has improved lately for several of the reasons stated above.
I would like to say though he has not suffered any interference from above because the people 'above' seem to be vacant positions or just plain anonymous. Maybe SISU's lack of hands-on and communication have benefited the cause.
On a slightly different subject, SISU's lack of investment is not putting the club in the position of the likes of Portsmouth and Rangers - it could be that the whole club is settling down after the turbulence of early season.
(Just something to think about before you all have me crucified at the Posh game)

So the guy looks like guiding the club to almost exactly the same position as the previous couple of managers under SISU, but with far less money and less experienced players, yet some think we should get rid?

Unrealistic expectations is the bane of this club. Look at the players AB & CC had and didn't achieve more than just above relegation: King, Westwood, Dann, Fox, Henderson, etc. We're talking about a 20 yo kid from Man U playing at the highest level of his career as saving the season!

Would just like one of the Thorn haters to actually put forward a reasonable alternative who could do better with the resources available. There's a fair argument that Thorn is up there with Black in terms of quality produced with resources available, except he's done it over more than a season.

still can't see the need to label people as "haters" o.k perhaps a couple of dicks but most people come up with good arguments on both sides

For the record I am more for than against.. I just want the team to be the best they can and at present I think Thorn is doing a great job, and I am not embarrassed to admit my mind has changed on him.

I think if he keeps us up he deserves the chance to move th team forward having had this years traumatic experinces firmly behind him.

your attitude above stinks. Just beacuse others disagree doesnt mean they dont have a clue. My mind has changed on Thorn but given a bit of knowledge on budget I am sure I could have come up with many possible alternatives.

Just because people disagree doesnt mean they dont have a clue, thats what kids say, so why not try to deal with the fact others differ in opinion.:facepalm:

I think Thorn us doing a great job, but I've not been one asking for him to be replaced anyway. Strangely, I've not heard anyone round me where I sit in Block 28 asking for his head either. I can't see the point in putting someone like Oggy in charge.

I despise the whole 'haters' fad in general, it's a lazy term used by people who just don't want to acknowledge valid criticism.

If it was all about money and the "better" players that brings then Blackpool would never have been promoted to the premiership, we would never have won the FA Cup...... etc etc. There is more to it than who on paper has the more valuable squad and because it is more valuable the better squad. Clearly having all those players hasnt made the likes of NFFC more than relegation strugglers just like us.

Completely agree with this as I was not saying that money and a more valuable squad = a better squad.
What I am saying is that Thorn has done something more valuable in keeping the squad united. Look at Swansea in the Premier League. On paper they have no stand out performers but they work hard at a certain style of football and are a much better side for it. Look at Newcastle a few seasons ago- excellent squad that should never have got relegated.
By comparing NFFC to us I was highlighting our lack of experience at this level, NOT the lack of value. I believe our players are technically as good as a lot of teams in this league... we just need to en-still a winning mentality back into CCFC and a knowledge of how to win games - something that has been lacking since we were relegated.

I just think it is good to see 85% want to keep AT now. Fans wanting to get rid of him has reached 60% or more during the season.

I wonder how many managers we have had in recent years that would have had an 85% backing of the fans? How many clubs have a manager at the moment backed by so many of their fans?

Just shows how far we have come together. It has been a long, hard season. Hopefully it is the season that we learn from and push on up the table. I have been going to games for over 30 years now. I want to know what it is like to have a push for promotion. I want to know what it is like to be top of the league. The last time I clearly remember is when we were top of the Prem. The first ever team to be top of the prem as well. It has been a long time now.

I suppose I can dream. Is that why the supporters of absolute shite teams carry on going to games? Wouldn't know because we are only shite
